WFlashgetting a Program:Win32/Wacapew.A!ml item threat with the latest release

probably a false positive or something on my end, but letting you know just in case

17.1 works fine tho

Just quickly googled and seeing as its tagged with "!ml" it seems to be a heuristic guess made by Windows Defender (the "!ml" tag stands for "machine learning"), i.e. a false positive (assuming you are using Windows Defender!). There are barely any changes between b17.1 and b17.2 (no updated libraries, no change for compiler settings, etc.) and several active TF2 friends also use Windows Defender and none of them have gotten this.

If you are still uncertain you can always compile it yourself, ChatGPT or other LLMs might be able to help guide you through that process (and even help you understand the code).

But thank you for reporting this, I'll try to keep an eye open to see if I can fix something on my end or what the cause might be! :)

what do I do about this?

edit: nvm, if anyone runs into this, just copy paste the actual text version of your install path instead of using the browse button like i was trying to do

Good to see you found some sort of solution, I tried reproducing this but wasn't able to :S

If you are able to reproduce this consistently, would you mind sharing the steps here (have them be as detailed as possible)?

EDIT: This issue has now been resolved, I've repackaged the same release so the download link stays the same. If anyone else encounters this issue just download the latest release again.

  • Conflicting VPK warning - Added partial path to each potentially conflicting file
  • Conflicting VPK warning - Limited entries in list of potentially conflicting files

Major changes regarding UI such as the window now being sizable along with removal of a few features and some new additions, mainly presets. Might be important to some that removed features are implemented in other ways. This release should fix a rare case of the UI being stretched for certain users, rendering Venom Crosshairs unusable.

Sinetiis there a way to get different vtf crosshairs for the different mediguns?

with viewmodels off, sometimes i forget im on krits and it ruins the round.

is this possible?

sadly this is not possible afaik, TF2 uses the same script file for all the medi guns (i.e. Medi Gun, Kritzkrieg, Quick-Fix and Vaccinator)

Very recently got to learn about zoom crosshairs for Sniper, yes - this changes your crosshair when you zoom with a sniper rifle. I've added this as an additional setting under explosion effects.
