#92 Capcom Pro Tour in Esports

Hey guys, CEO kicks off today but the SFV tournament doesn't start until tomorrow, however, SFV Rumble (the team tournament) will be played today.

Yet another Premier Event with many top international players in attendance. Most notably the players considered the best in the world: Justin Wong, Infiltration, and Momochi, are all meeting at this event. Phenom, however, is not currently in attendance. Other than that we have a slew of top players coming in today from all over the world. Many staying after CEO waiting and training for Evo in just 2 weeks.

#91 Capcom Pro Tour in Esports

Dreamhack Winter 2016 has ended with a surprising win from BX3.T-Link|Phenom takes it while defeating Daigo, Mago, Reiketsu, and finally 2nd place RZR|Fuudo. Tokido continues his consistency of 2nd and 3rd place taking 3rd. YOUDEAL MJS|Haitani rounds out the top 4 with his patented Necalli. The rest of top 8 are BST.RB|Daigo Umehara, RB|Luffy, Mago, and EG|Momochi.

Today was Europe's day. Many Japanese players were pushed down to the losers bracket by European competitors. Ryan Hart against Daigo, Brick and Saltykid against MOV, and Phenom against anyone he faced. Speaking of Phenom, since DHS is in fact a Premier event Phenom takes a guaranteed spot in Capcom Cup 2016.

Next up we have Community Effort Orlando in Florida. Also part of Daigo's "Road to Evo" many of the players you saw today will also be going here. Now it's North America's turn to defend their turf. If not this will be the second time Europe has taken something over NA, when Luffy won Evo in 2014.

See you next week for Florida. They always pull off a beautiful tournament so if you can drop by and take a gander.

#90 Capcom Pro Tour in Esports

As many of you may know, Dreamhack Summer 2016 has started for TF2. It also starts with SFV. Pools were yesterday but today we have playoffs into top 8.

Many Japanese players plus Xian have come over as part of Daigo's "Road to Evo" tour. Their next stop will be CEO but that is another time. These players include Daigo himself, Mago, Tokido, Itabashi Zangief, Momochi, Haitani, Fuudo, and more. Xian is also here opting to stay after his victory over in Russia. European attendees such as Ryan Hart, Luffy, Cuongster, Phenom, Brick, Will2pac, imstilldadaddy, and infexious are also in the playoffs.

Reminder that this is indeed a Premier Event which means whoever wins this qualifies for Capcom Cup 2016. However, if Momochi wins then the qualification spot here will instead be transferred to the global leader boards standings.

#89 Capcom Pro Tour in Esports

I could have sworn I already made this post.

Moscow Battle Arena ended earlier this week with RZR|Xian taking his first ranking event of the season. Some of the regular European travelers also came to play with Melty|Will2pac taking 2nd and PxP|Problem X taking 3rd. Rounding out top 4 is UM|RMZ. The rest of the top 8 are: KGB|Fidoskin, BX3.TP-Link|Veggey, Cancer, and Gr1nGo.

Soon we will have one of the best parts of the Capcom Pro Tour. 3 Premier events and ending with Evolution 2016. First off we have Dreamhack Summer as we already know is happening in a couple days. Many of us here, being a TF2 oriented website, would usually watch the event but if there is some setup time you could just pop over to the SFV stream and watch some matches if you would like.

After that is Community Effort Orlando which always attracts international level players as well as some brilliant wrestling themed entrances.

Then we have G-League which is China's first premier event. The issue with this event is that it's barely a week from Evo so it's hard to say who will go. I'm certain some Chinese players will stay, however, considering it is in fact a premier event and travel costs will be relatively low.

Finally we have the event of the year, Evolution 2016. Over 5,000 players from around the world are coming to compete in one of the most stacked events of the year. Anyone not going to G-League you could certainly find them here.

After all of this it will be quiet, with mostly ranking events until the next Premier event, the Tokyo Game Show.

Get hype.

Taiwan Fighter 2016 has ended with Mago taking 1st place, his first top 4 performance in CPT so far (I think). Tokido continues his 2nd place curse while YOUDEAL MJS|Haitani and Kazunoko take 3rd and 4th, respectively. The rest of top 8 consist of HORI|Sako, HM|Eita, RZR|Fuudo, and TS|Poongko. This also makes one of Poongko's higher placings at a CPT event. Also of note is Daigo and Bonchan not making it as far as many people expected them to.

We also have Moscow Fighting Arena starting on Sunday. Notable players will be PxP|Problem X, Melty|Cuongster, and Melty|Will2pac. While not the greatest of competition the matches between the 3 listed here are at least going to be interesting.

Man this tournament is just full of killers. Bonchan eliminated by Tonpy, Daigo gets sent to losers by Go1. The old guard is starting to dwindle guys. This is starting to look like the new generation of players breaking out. (oh and sako vs tokido right now)

Taiwan Fighter 2016 has started!

Asian ranking event, tons of really good players here. Hard to name them all but expect the usual Taiwanese, Singapore, Japanese, and Korean players here.

The Fight has ended with EG|K-Brad taking 1st place with his "boo" Cammy. BROOK.ANV.ON|Misterio takes 2nd continuing to show off his dominance is the South American region. PandaTV|Dark Jiewa takes 3rd, continuing on the path to restoring himself to the international player he once was in SF4. Melty|Will2pac takes 4th as the final non-local player here. The rest of top 8 are: DT|Pikoro, Serpentaurus, PX|Rocklandkyo, and PX|Zaito.

Next week will be TWFighter Major 2016 with many asian players expected to enter. Expect fierce competition here. Moscow Fighting Arena will also be happening over in Europe so they get their share of points as well.

One thing to note is that people are worried that all the points are going to many American players because of the relative lack of competition in South America. So far only 2 people have gone down to South America for points and one of them is basically already a shoe-in for Capcom Cup. Taking another look at the schedule regardless, many American tournaments have already been completed with a couple being spread out for the rest of the year; Canada Cup, CEO, and Evo included.

One question mark right now is the supposed Brazilian event "GRT" which has a vague name, no specific location, and does not even have a marked date. If this was supposed to be this weekend then I have no idea but I can't imagine it will be interested with three premier events, plus Evo, coming up these few weeks post next weekend.
