4 gigs of ram isn't a whole lot when you're talking about 4k, have you checked your memory usage while rendering to make sure that's not the cause of the crash?
As far as editing software goes premiere and after effects are super solid, would definitely agree with the people saying to go for the adobe stuff

dango isn't online enough to fix basic shit like the bot crashing every 5 minutes so I have my suspicions that he wouldn't care to implement something like that, though it would be a nice feature

If I were you I'd just use 4:3 and a low resolution, but no matter what you do your game will run like shit unless you upgrade to a more powerful potato
