agreed. I was figuring that getting more gpu would help in other games, but for tf2 I'd imagine even a gtx650 ti would be able to max it out. Just get a good cpu like a 3570k or a 3770k (maybe an 8350 if you stream), a cheaper gpu (maybe $200-300), and some peripherals like a good mouse and keyboard/headset. Hell you could probably max out tf2 with consistant fps with a 500 dollar budget.

You know what, To kill a mockingbird is really my favorite book, when I read it in 8th grade my whole life changed, really. Thought about everything in a new way, such an amazing story. Beautiful book.

Of course ^ But a gtx 670 and 680 are not going to outpreform a 7970 or 7950, especially for the price. Same with the 660 vs 7870 and 7850.

Love that hud. But I've personally switched the the OMP hud, specifically mangachu_s (old) mod of it. I like his crosshair.

That's stupid. I like gullywash and snakewater best. That along with gravlepit and cp_process.
Granary and blands are terrible. Granary mids are just basically who gets the fastest rollout and is the better soldier. Blands is the same, just get spammed out by demo/solly in house and either have scouts and soldiers win mid or die and have to retreat to last basically.

And how much do the lightboost monitors cost, how much more? Is it worth it?

Whats the best cheap 120hz monitor? I'm thinking of getting one of these, but I might just get a good 60hz monitor and overclock it or something. Are there any in the ~200-250 dollar range?

Also can you overclock the normal 120hz ones to 144hz?

Also never go for a gtx 670. For the price you can get a 7950 which will blow it away. Nvidia sucks for gaming, unless you really need it for CUDA or something else

actually nvm if you already have a good 120hz monitor. But yeah. DO NOT do nvidia. Amd 7970 is much better than the gtx 680 and is cheaper. Hell, a 7950 can be found as low as $260. If you overclock and crossfire a 7950, you get basically a cf 7970 which is faster than dual 680 by far and faster than a titan as well. Thats only $520 for that..

Don't go with nvidia. The only reason to do nvidia over AMD is because you use adobe after effects or any CS6 that needs CUDA acceleration. But other than that the amd 7970 and 7970 crossfire is much better than 680 and 690.
But those would all really be overkill for tf2...

Maybe wait for haswell, but a 3570k would be plenty for tf2. Maybe if you were doing crysis 3 or something then wait for it

Also, I'd personally get two good 24 inch 120hz monitors. One for gaming and one for ther internet or something else. For $2000, I don't know how the first poster could have only gotten a gtx 660..

If you don't OC than just get a single or dual 7970s and a hyper 212.

But honestly my gtx 660 ti can max out tf2 at over 200fps. Pair that with a 3570k or something it would be great.
