#15 TeamFortress.TV DM Servers Changes in TF2 General Discussion
dfybecause that turns it into a shit fest, and defeats the purpose of dm

extv dm has become increasingly awful for obvious reasons, and fog is doing a great job of giving players the option of being able to avoid the gimmicky unlocks, 2 demos, snipers etc

That's not really an explanation at all.

The issue with demo in dm is that stickies are strong there, like always. With only two stickies loaded that problem should be largely solved. Like I said, if you have some other reason why two demos should be banned I'm eager to hear it.

dfy4812622Now that the Sticky Launcher is limited, can you lift the Demo class limit to two?
2 demos on the same team in dm is honestly a joke

Please explain your reasoning

dfyTheMedicTF2Deservescefyrinwhy are you always hostile toward top 6s players?A fair amount of top 6s players bash Highlander, so it just seems mutual is how I see it. Why can't we all just get along?TheMedicTF2Deserves

That dude isn't really amusing, he's just an annoying douche. I don't know why you'd want any more exposure to him in your life than necessary.

#60 Flank is an idea. A concept. in TF2 General Discussion
KhakiAre there really people out there who try to safeguard their tf2 strategies as some sort of assurance that this means they're better than everyone else? Like who the fuck is so concerned about winning a video game league with a payout less than the cost of a month's rent in the projects

People like to win; wanting to win and planning to make that happen is how they got to invite to begin with. I really doubt the prize money has much or anything to do with it.

#4 Well there goes the Neighborhood (Mecha Update) in TF2 General Discussion

If the new GL is better than the current GL, it will be banned because demo is already strong enough. If it's worse, it will be banned so that people can't troll with it.

#7 Is demo more than M1+M2 in TF2 General Discussion

Yes, demo is really easy because you only have to use two buttons

Scout is even easier, you don't even have to use M2

#73 Community item recipient nomination thread in TF2 General Discussion

Quite a few of the people nominated in this thread already have community weapons. For instance, Extine has one, as does Comedian.

Anyway, I'd like to nominate chojje for snakewater, arnold for gullywash, croissant, and bazillion, and scorpiouprising for process, ashville, and standin.

chojje: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197998577229
arnold: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197961658278
scorpio: http://steamcommunity.com/id/scorpiouprising

I don't know whether or not they have weapons already, but they certainly deserve them.

#81 ESEA-Orang-eXplosion in TF2 General Discussion

I don't see why people are acting like TF2 will "grow" if we just get more exposure on twitch.tv or ESEA or whatever. 99% of twitch viewers have no interest in TF2. 90% are there to watch a completely different type of game - SC2, LoL or Dota 2. Of the people in this community, how many do you think watched competitive TF2 before they started to play the game at even a pub level? The target audience is people who play TF2 but don't know comp exists, don't know streams exist, and don't know ESEA exists, and because of that it doesn't matter at all whether or not you cast on the ESEA stream.

#78 Obama president again! in TF2 General Discussion
KhakiukmSneakyPolarBearWell to be fair we aren't a true democracy. No country in the world is actually a true democracy (everyone gets to vote on everything). We elect representatives to essentially vote for us. The idea is to grasp the will of the people and make choices they support in order to be elected, while also being logistically a lot better.
What? Democracy does not mean "everyone gets to vote on everything". Democracy refers to any system of government in which the power of the state is derived from the population as a whole. There are many different possible democratic systems. Direct democracy (which you're describing, and which by the way does exist to a degree in Switzerland) isn't a more "true" form of democracy than a representative democracy. It has pros and cons like any other system of government.
I think what he's trying to say is that people toss around the word democracy nowadays and it's definition is pretty skewed

The word has more than one meaning, that's pretty normal. This word is different though, in that people apparently think it makes them look smart to derail the conversation every time it's used by pointing out how the definition the other person is using differs from whatever they had in mind. This is exactly as useful and clever as going into one of the mouse sensitivity threads we often have and asking why people care how easy it is to hurt their pet rodent's feelings.
