they wont really need a 250gb ssd if all theyre doing is email and internet. hell, maybe even 64gb would be fine.

#5 120 Hz ~1500$ pc for tf2 only (HELP) in Hardware

this build is probably overkill, but ok

Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1zFdx/by_merchant/
Benchmarks: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1zFdx/benchmarks/

if you wanted, you could swap for windows 8 and / or get a 770. a 7970 performs pretty similar if you overclock it a bit though

nice case, could get something based on your preference though.

not 100% sure on motherboard, but it's a z87 atx motherboard on lga 1150 so it should work fine. gigabyte motherboards are pretty good.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($229.98 @ Outlet PC)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.99 @ Microcenter)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($148.99 @ NCIX US)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($71.35 @ Amazon)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($59.98 @ Outlet PC)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 3GB Video Card ($304.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Fractal Design Define R4 (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case ($89.99 @ Microcenter)

Optical Drive: LG GH24NS95 DVD/CD Writer ($15.99 @ Microcenter)

#19 Looking to build a computer. in Hardware
ckapHijacking thread for just a second.

To what degree is TF2 a processor hog? If I've got an i5 (dualcore) and a GTX 660 right now, should I upgrade the video card or the processor?

dual core i5? sounds really old

unless you're on a laptop and using a mobile 660
