sage78thesqrtminus1headshots don't just come from tf1 I'm fairly certain that headshots were a thing before thenthe original Quake Team Fortress build (Scout, soldier, demoman, medic, sniper) is the first recorded instace of shots in the head dealing extra damage AFAIK. This was a few weeks prior to Goldeneye 64 release, wich also did feature headshots.
in fps games i believe you are right but iirc there were on-rails arcade shooters that had location based damage(including headshots) included as mechanics before then.
how big of a stain is it? you might be better off just getting a rug or putting a dresser or a dog on top of it.
