#14 quick poll regarding 'active servers' module/tab in Off Topic

I use it a bunch. It would be awesome if it could be divided into sections (either MGE/DM/Jump/surf, or East Coast/West Coast/Central/EU)

#9 I don't understand bitcoins in Off Topic

So it's e-money that the mafia uses so they can launder all their drug money?

#46 What now? in TF2 General Discussion
thrasherI'm going off the grid because of this. Gonna go build a log cabin in the Alaskan wilderness and hide from "the man".

I have one already, you can just stay at mine

Also, I don't give a shit about the bitcoin thing (well it sounds shitty, but I didn't know what a bitcoin was til I heard about this). I would definitely enjoy it if a different league could take ESEA's place if it meant they'd run it better. For now though, all we really have is ESEA, so that's where I'll play.

My DM isn't massive, but I'm not a stupid player. If you think you could help an up and coming roamer with that background, hit me up

#11 Lawena and Steampipe in TF2 General Discussion

Okay I think my problem there is that I had my folder with my configs, and my folder with my resource and scripts in separate folders under the custom folder. I put them all in custom/mystuff now though. However now lawena is stuck endlessly on "Replacing config..."

Edit: I'm an idiot and apparently didn't give it the directory properly.

#10 Lawena and Steampipe in TF2 General Discussion

I redirected Lawena, but it's still not working properly for me. My hud works fine normally in game, and when I launched Lawena after changing the directory, it replaced my hud perfectly. However it appears that the bindings weren't working, and the actual recording of the clip wasn't working. I'd press 'p' which is the key i press to record, but nothing happened, and no images were recorded.

#12 Need help with dropping frames in OBS in TF2 General Discussion

I've tried everything everyone suggested so far, but I'm still dropping frames. I also did a ping test and my ping/jitter are both fine.

If my computer is truly not powerful enough for those settings, or it's because I'm on a laptop, then what settings could I change to account for that? Otherwise, what else can I try to do to get a smoother stream?

#85 ESEA Invite S14 in TF2 General Discussion

I don't know/don't care if djc is good enough or not to be in invite. As long as he's still gonna be casting, I'll be happy.

#1 Medic/Soldier/Scout LFT Open/IM in Recruitment (looking for team)

I'm looking to pocket or roam in high open or IM, play medic in high open (maybe low IM? Okay probably not IM), or play scout in ~mid open.

I'm pretty dedicated to getting better, and I'm a pretty easy going guy, so hit me up for a tryout!

#10 Need help with dropping frames in OBS in TF2 General Discussion

I lowered my quality to 6 and did what #7 said about the bitrate, and so far this session i've dropped ~1% frames, so it seems to be helping. I'll see if that stays consistent, but thanks for the help!

#8 Need help with dropping frames in OBS in TF2 General Discussion

I am on wired internet. And I'm only dropping frames in obs, in game my fps is fine. I'll mess around wth the quality and try out #7's suggestion.

#1 Need help with dropping frames in OBS in TF2 General Discussion

So I recently got new internet and started streaming again. I used this: http://obsproject.com/estimator to choose my settings, but I seem to be dropping frames like crazy and I can't figure out why. Here are my computer and internet specs:

Specs:
CPU: intel core i7 - 3610QM, 2.3 GHz
Memory: 8GB RAM
GPU: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 660m (on a laptopt) w/ 2GB memory

Internet:

http://www.speedtest.net/result/2672034531.png

And my settings for OBS are:

Quality: 7
Bitrate: 2000
Resolution: 720p
fps: 30

If there are any other settings that would be helpful for you to know, let me know. A lot of them I just didn't mess with. Also, I've tried multiple different servers because I've been told that can help, and it hasn't seemed to make a difference. I drop ~5% of frames at best, but sometimes up to like 35%. Any help on this would be much appreciated.
