mtheres also (and im sure exceptions for everybody exist) the fact that if u cant fork over 85 bucks for something that takes up at least 20 hours of ur week for 3 months then maybe ur priorities are fucked up and u should figure out how to work 85/3 bucks a month of disposable income into ur budget
I am on a fixed income and my current circumstances (vet bills and fixing broken PC so i can play at all) have drained my ability to pay for anything for a couple months.
A couple of us can pay fees but most of us are broke. I just had to take my cat to the vet and repair my PC so i'm not going to have any money for months.

The best thing we can do at this point is maintain our community and continue playing the game we want to play instead of the game Valve wants us to play. At least then the game can die with what dignity is has left.
