It could still be made in 12 hours but it will be a really tight schedule for a double elim tourney I reckon
Because it's expensive for the event to run throughout a weekend. Tight budget: funded by students mostly
I agree with what everyone has said. Is there any other tournament format that I haven't looked at but should?
I don't want to do a BO1 because it wouldn't be fair, even though it'd fit into my time frame

Hi All,
I'm trying to organize a LAN in about a month's time. It's a one day event lasting 12 hours.
What I'm having trouble with is: What 6v6 Tournament Format would be the most fair to approach.
Here are the restrictions I'm encountering:
40 computers (not inclusive of servers and casting)
12 hours
8 teams
So far, I'm leaning towards a Double Elmination/Bo3, which will mean that the first 7 rounds (no eliminations) will be played online. The only problem with that is the team who blazes through the online league will only get to play once/twice at the LAN. All the registered teams will be paying a fee, and I don't think that it'd be fair for that team in particular (even though they're guaranteed First/Second place).
Please help!
