eeeWhat motivation did you have then? Destroy your economy? Pretend that leaving the EU was going to turn you into a Democracy?
Nobody knows at this stage what the real outcomes are going to be, but whatever it is then I am confident it is going to be signifcantly better than what we currently have. At least who we vote for is directly accountable and can be voted out without a cushy role in the European Commission waiting for them despite their failures. The UK still has the House of Lords though, which should also be abolished with any luck.
As for other reasons, a couple include how the Lisbon Treaty and Eurozone bailouts were handled and the beyond lacklustre renegotiation terms from earlier this year which would've passed with a Remain vote. The latter truly reflected just how much influence we really have.
How much coverage did you have of the European parliament in the American media before this referendum? This is not a dig, I'm interested.

like really read them and think about if people who type like that are the people you want associated with your belief system
Of course I am going to disagree with a whole heap of racist comments on there, but this is not enough to sway my opinion away from all the many reasons I chose to vote leave. You hear equally absurd and disgusting comments by many others from the remain side, both by individuals and the media in the run-up to this referendum (and beyond).
For what it's worth, I believe we should be able to control immigration a lot more than the EU allows us to, but it was not my primary motivation in voting the way I did.

Well it's not that surprising considering 16 million voters are against the outcome and it's still fresh in our minds.
From reading the news today there seems to be a lot of people who voted leave changing their minds, although I'm not sure if the media is simply being selective to try to prove a bias.
No doubt! This result goes against their best interests afterall.
I honestly think that if there was another referendum that remain would win, but I don't think there will be another one
Maybe, maybe not. The decision's been made and now we must move on.

eeepeople who have spent thousands of hoursplaying tf2discussing and thinking about economic and political theory pretty collectively agreed that leaving the EU would have negative short term and longer term consequences, and basically no one could provide a good argument for why it was a good idea. Propaganda won because the average person was too stupid to even bother to research what the EU was or how much the UK was paying into it vs receiving,
This is pretty funny considering fear and propaganda were the primary drivers in the Remain campaign. Naturally if people are willing to accept the bullshit they are being fed by those with interests in the EU then this was their target audience to swing the vote in their favour.
Unfortunately for them, Bob Geldof and a bunch of other celebrities backing Remain didn't mean shit in the end and people were able to see through the facade. In addition, there was a severe lack of counter-arguments against Leave in the debates, and if you haven't seen them then you should look them up.

We're about to hand the reins of the country over to the most fanatical neo-liberal party ever who already tried to privatise all education in the UK through trying to force them to become academies and would very much like to privatise the NHS. Cameron was bad enough but he's gone by October and Boris will likely be replacing him and that would be even worse because he's deceptively dangerous due to his carefully cultivated public image of being a buffoon. He's said that people would appreciate the NHS more if they had to pay for it (at point of use, not through taxes as it is currently). No one can say for certain but given the Conservative's track record we're up for more crushing austerity and more privatisation of education and health and other public services which is objectively bad for the working class. Not to mention the removal of EU funding of higher education means that either tuition fees will rise or the quality of education will decrease making it harder to leave the working class via higher education.
Given that potential scenario then, the UK government is 100% liable assuming we've already left the EU by then. We make our decision come the next general election whether to oust them or not, without any influence or involvement by the European Commission (in theory at least, pending self-interests of current MPs). This referendum was bigger than the Conservative being in power in the longer term.

In some UK universities, they are offered as MAs. Perhaps they are just a formality to give the impression they actually mean something.
