If you've got a z170 board, you can get some fps by overclocking the cpu. However you can't get anything newer then a 7th gen on the board, so you'd have to upgrade to a newer one (that is the MB, CPU and maybe RAM). For the gpu, 1050 ti is more then plenty and you won't see any meaningful difference between it and an rtx 3050

chmod -x $HOME/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_64/steamwebhelper

windows:

removing/renaming steamwebhelper.exe and starting the client with -noverifyfiles.

after quickly testing on linux (didnt test windows), games run fine, but you need to launch them through minimal mode and you won't be able to chat with people (and you will be offline), because that is handled by the now disabled steamwebhelper. also updates might revert these changes, but that shall be seen

hello, unfortunately the younger hedgie (ozzy) passed away just 2 hours ago. he got diagnosed with water on his heart and at the same time dehydration, enlarged kidney and infection in his urinary tract. hedgehogs hide their illnesses (and are quite prone to them) very well, so you usually find out when it's too late. we did so on saturday, but couldn't find an emergency at the weekend that could treat hedgehogs, so he got some medicaments on monday and made it all the way to this moment.
