Talent is great BUT people look at it way wrong. There's tons of "talent" that is just that - talent and nothing else. NA now compared to previous years is trying to add more players that are talent and not the same revolving shit. Except in the case of TSM this "talent" (which I'm fine with giving sick and vice - tim is getting to the point where he actually needs to show up soon because he's been pretty average with occasional sparks) is surrounded by Semphis (who has actually ruined some of the talent he had in the past like coL and nihilum) and FNS who was cut from CLG, a team that stagnated near 3rd place in NA - and he was the worst player AND he was removed from IGL. These "veterans" won't mold these players into shit and that's why they're there. TSM didn't surround these younger players that could turn into something with literally ANY help at all. Actually they did the opposite; they surrounded them by two players who had a talented team and did nothing, and a guy who was cut from a team for not improving! Valens also has done nothing on the teams he has igl'd and coached.

Every region has stagnancy and you need it to a degree to work. While that's definitely true I agree. With talent I think you have a ticking timebomb. Let's take your examples C9 taking in Stewie (I think this is entirely different than any other case). So with C9 taking in Stewie they added talent much like they did with shroud which actually ended up pretty well shroud turned into a good player. Much like shroud stewie came to the top of the scene incredibly quickly and is arguably the most talented player NA has to offer right now. BUT stewie is different from all other talent. He's different from all other talent in the sense that he has all the aim and DM skills right now but he isn't talented in the brain aspect. He plays like an idiot that just solo queued pugs all day long and this is what you got. I believe that talent can be many things and he's definitely there but I think that because of the way stewie plays he's a high risk low reward player because his play style is so terrible that he probably won't work against EU teams. But you're right it is a risk that could possibly work.

CLG taking in considerable talent. This is just down right wrong I believe. The entire team has stayed at the exact same level for an entire fucking year. Literally the last 10 months that team has not changed from the level they were at. That "talent" hasn't improved at all and isn't called talent anymore. That team isn't made up of talent it is made up of 5 players that are probably at close to their top level. CLG have been together for like 2 years and they have seen little improvement

NiP added new talent. Again referring to the CLG thing. Pyth isn't talent anymore - he basically showed what he was made of when he moved to NA and literally did nothing. Before the NA spell he had I'd say he had talent but it was unproven. Pyth in theory because he was talented should've gone to NA and completely owned off of pure skill. BUT he didn't and actually was very underwhelming. So I'd say that NiP is buying a dead horse but who knows maybe he can just unleash something that he had a year ago

On the idea that adding KennyS and Apex wasn't a risk is wrong. EnvyUS knew that by cutting smithz (their worst player) that shoxie would leave (their best player). The players they added could've actually been even worse than the two players they had before. Apex could've been as bad as smithz or even worse possibly and time will tell if he goes back to titan era apex my god that was bad. And KennyS might not even have been the best player on the team and still isn't I'd say. By taking the two players that could've been even than their current they were taking a large risk. Now whether or not Shox was leaving regardless we don't really know but I think he did have some problems with happy leading.

Also I think that TSM has too many unproven players and has too many players that could literally just be premier players or winterfoxes that don't do shit. That's what I think about a ton of players. When is the line drawn where they are just average players that aren't getting better and when they are actually improving and getting better - that is a talented player

Much like muma I think in tf2 (idk I haven't followed it in like a year just sorta bits and pieces) that guy is talented cause he improved a shit load and still is whereas a guy idk like some dumb open player or low IM player who has been there forever is still at a lower level that guy isn't talent just because he's at a lower level trying to improve
