I just don't understand why FaceIt is just the ultimate solution. It is NOT the perfect fit for everyone. IF FaceIt puts in something that are already available in other services, I will start playing. If you are fine with playing the class that is needed, awesome for you, enjoy faceit! I personally do NOT like such a system, because I like playing demo more than anything else, and I don't like the odds of being able to play it when I'm playing with a random group of six people. I understand that you just play the game, and like I said, if that works for you then AWESOME you enjoy the new program with faceit. However, to say that we should just abandon everything that we already enjoy just because there is a new system with rewards is not the right way to do things. I want to play the way I want to, this is a game after all not my job. I don't need to win prizes, I just wanna play demo. The idea that we should all coalesce into one singular platform that does NOT satisfy every persons desires in a pug system just because it has prizes is ludicrous. There should always be alternatives and a way to play the game the way you want to.
But again just to be clear, because everyone yells at me every time I say something, I don't think FaceIt is inherently bad, I personally prefer being able to pick a class and I know that there are others like me.

I will start playing faceit the day they add the ability to choose your class so you don't have to sign up and hope someone wants to play med. Until that day, no amount of FaceIt points is going to convince me to leave the systems that already work and already allow you to pick your class.

Jarate is stupid. I may be prejudiced as a demo player, but the idea that we can give sniper a "oh shit im dying let me throw this piss at my enemy so my team can kill the guy who sac'ed on me" does not appeal.
Maybe someone can explain why Jarate is cool to them, cause to me it seems like it fits the mold for what we call OP. There's no reason not to run it competetively, unless we unban the danger shield so sniper has to decide between surviving a weak headshot or having the minicrit madness. It frankly promotes unskillful play in that you dont pull out an smg and at least try to kill your attacker you just throw the jarate and die knowing your team can easily kill him with minicrits. Finally, its just annoying to play against, because you are afraid to jump a sniper if there is anyone remotely near because hes just gonna put minicrit magic on you and watch you die in his deathcam.
I also still dont understand the universal outcry against the LnL when it STILL isn't being used by every demo playing the game like it should be if its so OP. However, I seem to be alone in this stance so I am not gonna try to argue it.

Add another for the chromebook+desktop reccomendation. Personally, I got my toshiba chromebook two refurbised for $100 and then a 64 gig sd card and put Linux on the card (its a relatively painless process, google will guide you.)

I have yet to run into a situation where I was in class and I wished I had more computer, and the lightness of the chromebook means I can still bring my 3 tons of physics books around all morning!

You want to know what really causes stalemates? Medics and Uber, but that is one of the most interesting things about TF2. The second biggest cause of stalemates? The 5cp format, as has been addressed in like five billion threads. I honestly am of the opinion that we need to stop trying to find ways to get rid of stalemates, they are truly an intrinsic part of this game. Instead, we should focus on trying to find new ways of breaking stalemates, whether that is allowing all of these unlocks in again or not I do not know but I for one am excited to find out this season.

I have a question:
I am currently running an i5-4460 and a r7 260x, I'm looking at the new GPUs and I'm wondering whether it would be better to go with a 480 (Likely the Sapphire Nitro 4gig option) or a 1060 (One of the cheaper models.) Which one would be better for TF2 and Overwatch. Ive seen data on other big name games, but not much on these titles. I'm currently leaning toward the 1060, as the 6gigs and slight improvement in performance seem worth it to me, but if I'm wrong regarding tf2 then I would love to be told so!

Does anyone know if Faceit will be adding a way to sign up for a specific class? As it is right now I see no reason for people like me, who are not going to win anything in the ladders or the cups unless we are carried, to play this instead of tf2center or mixchamp. If anything, this system is actually worse than what we already have.

The issue is not entirely the viewmodels. To me at least the core of the issue is Valves fixation on viewmodels as an issue. There are so many other things that need to be fixed, as someone already took two posts to lay out, and Valve decided to stop a small community of players from using custom animations to play the game how they have played it and wish to continue to play it. I personally love the minimum viewmodels, they dont mess with my head at all, but what I do not like is that Valve has devoted time and effort to stopping this issue instead of other bigger issues that have already been pointed out.
