#8 pov demos in TF2 General Discussion
ChiPeople were bringing back: http://www.youtube.com/tf2povs but I guess they stopped, other than that, I don't know of any place to get pov's from

Forgive me TF2 fathers for I have committed sins most heinous.

I have succumbed to temptations of socialisation with fellow besmirchers of your glorious fortressly goodness, spending much time offline as to enjoy the company of said besmirchers instead of suckling against the soft bosom of time-wasting you so freely provide us as to enjoy, and I beg for your forgiveness.

I have also blasphemed against your name and coveted other videogames for personal amusement as I seek to enjoy the remainder of my holidays before thine university begins again.

As well as these sins; I must further confess my previous infidelities in the previous video I worked on. Thy sync imperfect, glorious minutes lost to the evil encode monster which I failed to notice before uploading and declined to redo out of sloth and contentness with mediocrity.

I beg of you; allow but one chance at atonement. A further open call to all top level teams for pov/mumble submissions shall so graciously be accepted and worked on with haste.

#12 S10 Lan recordings in TF2 General Discussion
SylverWhoa, you used the in game record feature to record these? How long did it take to render these in Virtualdub?

The 40-45 minute videos took about two hours worth of rendering in vdub with my stock clocked AMD 1090t processor, then about an extra hour and a half of encoding in easy H264.

#9 S10 Lan recordings in TF2 General Discussion
n0gravwhat program do you use to record the playback of the demo and upload it to youtube?

Used lawena to record the image files, chucked those into vdub to create the avi then encoded with easy H264 which is what gets uploaded to youtube. Kirby's guide (http://teamfortress.tv/forum/thread/3521/1#post-50263) is essentially what I followed; skipping the editing in Vegas part since, well, it doesn't really need any editing and I was too lazy to take out the pauses.

You should attempt to record using srcdemo2; but that doesn't work for me.

botmodewow, that is a lot of effort you put forward, thanks!

Pretty sure it's better for my sanity if I don't think about how much time I spent making these...

#1 S10 Lan recordings in TF2 General Discussion

Since there’s been a dearth of pov recordings in that oh so wonderfully accessible realm of youtube videos, I’ve converted the available demos from the ESEA S10 LAN before Valve has a chance to further break old demos as they have a penchant of doing.

I attempted to be authentic with HUDs and viewmodels based on current/previous configs. Don’t hurt me if I got things wrong.

Minor problems are present, such as sound bugs (weapon noises and footsteps) as well as a mildly annoying purple/black square near the health display; again related to Valve’s updates.

Thanks to techdude, of course, for making all these demos available in the first place.
