This could really go either way because of the skill gap mentioned throughout the thread already, but i think the coaches being in spec and having a team of six newbies would be for the best (i know specing games is probably boring). Every time we had spec coaches it seemed like i learned the most because they could watch everything. They weren't just viewing the combo or the flank, so they could give advice to both. Also more efficient because you had 12 people getting to play instead of 10.
I'm a low open pocket playing my first season is ESEA. Looking for someone that could help me with demos and help with calling and just general pocket stuff. I'm willing to learn and take any criticism you can give me.
I have a new team of mostly people with no league experience. We would definitely benefit greatly from advice and watching some STV's with you.
mhow does adding another historically bad/underused league to an already thin community help grow tf2?
what kind of player would play comp tf2 for the sole reason that they picked up tf2?
csgo players have no interest in it, and with all the superior leagues for dota/sc2 you know the teams in those divisions will both be mediocre at best
growing the leagues that have proven to be worth our time isnt being reclusive, its investing our player base wisely
remember xpl? efps?
all those terrible leagues that launched tf2 tourneys/leagues that turned out to be horribly ran and a waste of time?
how much did that increase sponsor interest or grow tf2?
cevo has lost its relevence to competitive gaming, not just tf2
EVEN if this CEVO league or tournament is run horribly and fails miserably like your convinced is the case, if that league brings in 1 person to Comp tf2 its a win. Like you said, if the fault is theirs with poor management it doesn't hurt tf2.

All the posts seem to be either for seanbud/lange/DJC/Cbear, or not sure. The way it sounds to me is that eXtine asked that himself and Cbear be flown out to lan so they can cast in person, in exchange for casting on ESEA orange and I assume showing their sponsors some love. If ESEA denies eXtines request the logical thing to do is either 1. not cast it (which would not ever happen) or 2. Cast on their own away from ESEA.
From the 4's stand point it makes sense for them to go a different route for exposure +self-promotion, and from eXtines perspective it also makes sense to do what he did (minus the video rant). Of course we still might not have all the information anyway so what the fuck ever.
How am i supposed to be bad at #tf2mix if there's no #tf2mix!
Bombard this board! Make it splinter!
Edit: its under the community tab

VickMOhMyZeus More static rosters will be WAY more appealing to sponsors then some team that brakes up after 7 games.
How do you force people to play together?
If you had to work through IM to get to invite, like ruwin was saying, I feel it would create more static rosters. Not saying player moves are bad, I mean "static" as in not wiping a team then restarting when things dont go well. Does that make sense?
#103
Bring in the blacklist. Bring in the open to intermediate to invite rule, I say.
Then invite TF2 will get like exponentially better. More static rosters will be WAY more appealing to sponsors then some team that brakes up after 7 games.
map looks cool. Im going to run some pugs on it and i'll let you know. Although we're all low skill anything helps I assume.
