elliott_DougIt's not the same thing.
But both are terrible things that should not be accepted by any competitive community.
It's not like TF2 is some big esport :)

Keep getting mad at people for hacking so they can make people mad

wareyabsccan someone enlighten me as to why our meta game is stale?the bleeding edge of the 6s "meta" has been evolving at least where you can notice it shift a little every month if you REALLY pay attention. however a majority of teams are still playing the same way as people have played since MGE (the thing, not the mod) died. their game is already "good" and works well against the people they're facing and they have no other incentive to change like mihaly's flow did with the fact that their dual bombing all the time worked.
HL meta is changing every couple weeks and midlevel (high steel to silver) teams are adapting properly because the method of play is still relatively primitive compared to 6s (several years behind) and also because there's just "MORE".

ya the current "meta" we're on is the one where teams die. soon it'll evolve to the one where teams ask for donations

Fzerothrilllower level invite teams should never have lan as a goal. invite to me was just having the opportunity to play against the best players. the goal is to show how you play as a player and teammate. ninjanick, milo, xalox, squid and decimate are only some players in the top teams in invite this season that just took the beatdown of being on a lower invite team and pushed themselves to get on better teams.

if paying 60 bucks each season during that time isn't worth having you improve. then the game isn't for you.

On the other side of the issue, not everyone feels that the price jump isn't worth is worth it. I guess it could just be me, but I could never pay that for invite. I know this a very outside thought, but how long does everyone think we can support 3 LANs a year? I still feel that we need to plan for the future in that case.

invite 4th place prize is 1500 dollars, any team that makes it can pay their own way there by getting forwarded the prize pot.

damn a lot of invite players have decided the game isnt for them 1k, 2k 3k+ hours into the game then

EggplantWhy aren't there more invite-caliber teams/players ready to step up to the plate? (Or maybe there ARE lots of players/teams ready for invite competition but not able to because of the promotion rules)

I mean, I've seen some players and teams (under different names) hanging throughout open/IM for seasons if not YEARS. Surely invite should be a bit more robust/healthy given the number of players who are serious and dedicated to improving.

spoilers nobody likes invite unless ur top dawggg
