Cyanicis there a POC for this supposed RCE vuln anywhere? I haven't seen any evidence that it even exists yet.

remember when the exact same thing happened to steam pages themselves a couple years back? I wouldn't go about risk taking right now buddy, anything is possible.

I dislike the use of the term promod

I was shocked to be the first person to vote against a 'promod' in the strawpoll posted but I think this is just because when I think of the term promod that it would entail a custom client (which I don't think has been the general consensus)

If people are genuinely for a full on promod that would allow for extra fov etc that's an entirely different story to what's happening here, but it would be interesting to know people's thoughts on that either way

although on second thought a separate client could allow for A LOT of really useful things

alot of people have been posting about possible consequences on tftv which is not very convenient for keeping the thread on topic

if you manage to bomb into 6 players, dish out a 100 damage rocket to a player and jump out scot free let me know

I do not see how this is the one thing you take away from it even as opposed to how differently scouts have to play out 1v1s or how a 200 health soldier and 120 health soldier can hit the same rockets and trade

idk maybe it's a stupid question, but could you not just reduce the amount of heals it gives?

removing passive reload means that medics have to be much more considerate of how and when they use arrows, combined with the fact they don't give as much uber as the medigun

the idea is to keep the burst healing ability, but making it so you have to be smarter in your use of it
in doing so the skill ceiling of med is raised and the crazy burst healing on offer comes with a downside if you abuse it

Wouldn't this make gunboats ridiculously overpowered? Or am I misunderstanding how this is going to work?

By default soldier takes only 60% damage to his own rockets in the air
Equipping gunboats means you take 36% of total self damage

if you hit a player with a rocket that also splashes you whether or not you have gunboats you get no resistance to your own damage, the idea is simply if you have gunboats you get the same extra resistance and if you don't you get base self damage reduction anyway
