#52 I don't know in Videos
gecksThe truth of the matter is that nearly every caster has words or phrases they say too much.

Even the reeeally big money guys do it. For example, see: Jon "This Guy" Gruden.

Gruden also happens to be the best Commentator currently in the NFL and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise.

SentinelOne calling out the current flow of the game and another (an top player) offering a more in depth analysis of what's happening. It really works magically.

Yeah, Gecks is a play-by-play guy, Sideshow is a colour guy. Ideally you'd want all your cast duos to be like that, but due to who's available and what-have-you, I imagine it's not too easy for our TF2 casting boys to always align like that.

#327 ESEA-I S20 Happenings/Predictions in TF2 General Discussion
DirtyMortNot sure if this is still happening, but iirc ma3la said on stream that they would be missing bdonski for the first 2 weeks so he ma3la would take over demo in that time and they would need a roamer sub as well.

This was the original plan, but last I heard is that bdondski will be playing, but will possibly have god awful ping for the first few weeks.

#6 I Need Clips! in Videos

You could always use some of these bad boys: http://www.teamfortress.tv/28451/i55-demos

There's enough there to fill out dozens of frag vids.

#86 FROYO win i55 in News
EvrewsWhat I'd love to see is Froyotech going for a 3peat while a reformed Mixup (i46 or i52), i49 Epislon, iM, Ascent, and a top team from Asia try to contest them

How about a top Brazilian team? Powah on LAN pls.

#20 i55 shoutout/thanks thread in TF2 General Discussion

I really did enjoy having the bonus analysts during the downtime. So shoutouts to whoever decided to put WAR, CX and Mike (and anyone else, if I've forgotten I apologise) on the desk for post/pre-match taking. Made it feel more like a real sporting event. And War is perfectly suited for his new job as the Gary Lineker of TF2.

Gecks and Sideshow were killing in on commentary. Really good mix of professionalism and personality. Excellent stuff.

Production was great, players were amazing, and I really liked hearing the roars/applause from the crowd.

Overall, big well done to everyone. Was a fantastic event.

popcorpDon't think many teams are going to sign up this week due to i55.

Although, a good chunk of the team that's been whacking all over the competition is away at i55. Maybe some incentive for people to try their luck, eh? EH?

Apprehensive people should totally join this week. There's a slightly smaller chance of getting immediately knocked out by the top-of-invite team.

#55 MaxBox Quitting in TF2 General Discussion

He really doesn't sound like he's sorry for being a cunt and hacking, etc.
He just seems like he's just upset that people don't like him and he can't stream because people will always hop in his game and use hacks.

Basically, he's still a utter bellend.

But I'm glad he deleted all his how-to-hack videos. That's pretty neato.

#79 ESEA Invite: Froyotech vs. The Mad Men in Events
Rainmannope I think theoretically if the packets travel directly across the world at the speed of light with no delay the best ping possible is ~60ms, something to look forward to in the distant future I guess.
Where are you even getting this number from?

I'd presume the maths was something like:
About 15000km from Sydney to Chicago.
speed of light is 300,000km/s
So it'd take 0.05 seconds to get there. Or 50ms.

But, I'm pretty sure Ping measures the time there and back. So the best possible ping for that trip would be 100ms. Sydney to LA would be 80ms. Course, that would be with the presumption that it was a straight line and that the light wasn't hindered like it is when travelling through optical fiber and that there was no need for repeaters, switches, routers, etc.

#117 CEVO LAN Finals @ theGXL in Events

Just watched the Twitch vods. I sure enjoyed it. Thanks to the production crew and the rest of the team behind it. Shit was dope.

As for teams:
Froyo clearly need to try less hard. A not 5-0, 5-0 final would be nice.
Mix^ were fun, hope they're still planning to stick around. Enigma+Harb combo was freaking stellar.
eLv needed more of the miraculous pull-it-out-of-his-ass plays from Alfa.
Street Hoops didn't get to play in a casted match, which is a shame.

But yeah, all-in-all, fun stuff. Congrats to Froyotech.

#33 Late Season Mixups with Classic Mixup in News

I think Brad's comments on the matter was basically that he isn't good enough. And so it seems Harb will be the med of choice for mix^ for the time being.

It would be nice to have more details, but you can never be certain of anything with Mixup. They're an enigma.
heh.

#70 TF2 Update - 8.27.14 in TF2 General Discussion

I'm not necessarily against the change, I've not had a chance to try it out, but this is certainly feels like a weird and somewhat random nerf. Like, it'd make sense if it was when TF2 was new, because it was presumably a unplanned mechanic, but now it seems really odd. I mean, it's not like Sniper is a particularly strong class. I'm just interested as to what the thinking was behind it was, I'm sure they have a decent sounding reason for it.
