#18 So is MGE practice or no? in TF2 General Discussion
CollaidemarmadukeGRYLLSdont blatantly counterjump
overdoing it sure, but in real games it is a useful tool

i feel like in actual games it's such an easy thing to do that there's not much benefit practicing it and you're infinitely better off putting in effort trying to learn to take these fights the hard way so in times where counterjumping is a bad idea (like a soldier is bombing your med) you're more comfortable and can handle the situation better

and the distinction between "good to counterjump" and "bad to counterjump" isn't something you can really learn in mge so practicing counterjumps is kinda a waste of time for you and it will piss off like every single person you play so why bother

#77 Rules Don't Matter? [The UGC Experience] in TF2 General Discussion
KaiThePhauxhitherethis thread basically is tainting your reputation, making you a tiresome sore loser
There's nothing I can honestly do about that.

Yes there is.

Here, I'll even do it for you. Since I'm just a nice guy and all.

"You know what? I'm sorry. I'm being a sore loser. Trying to force a team to play with an absurdly high ping Demoman is poor sportsmanship, and I understand that we should have just played it and accepted the outcome. I was salty that we got stomped in a fair fight, and as such I acted like a child. While I understand that my reputation has taken a very harsh blow due to my actions, I hope that some day I can earn some small amount of respect back in the future.

Have a nice day, everyone."

#16 Player skill rating added to the game in TF2 General Discussion

I think if enough people showed interest in 6s lobbies, and enough people actually used the HL ones, they might be persuaded to make it for 6s as well. I think right now they don't believe 6s is something they can really get pub players interested in the way they can with HL, if only because of how different it is from pub play. I'd say it's possible, though unlikely, myself.

#5 roamer lft mid open in Recruitment (looking for team)

I haven't gotten a chance to really see how good he is, but I've spoken to him quite a bit and he's a joy to hang out with. Cool guy, would recommend.

#2 LFT Demo Low Open in Recruitment (looking for team)

Tenda is a pretty chill dude who likes to play video games. He's a solid Demo already, but he'd definitely improve a lot if given the opportunity to. The only real issue I can think of with him is that he tends to get down on himself, even when he does fine; I think if you can get him to accept that he's better than he thinks you'll have yourself a real star on your team.

you can do all of that without arbitrarily gimping yourself by running a utility that honestly cannot compete against scout/soldier

#9 ESEA-IM S17, CEVO-M S5 Happenings/Predictions in TF2 General Discussion
LangebotmodeIs it possible for my team to get a CEVO-M roster this season without hijacking / playing open?
Pipher and I are going to meet and discuss how we want to handle this today. Obviously if a team like Classic Mixup decides to play CEVO this season, forcing them to play Open would be silly. I'll let you know what we come up with.

We will be directly inviting any current ESEA-I teams that have not yet played in CEVO to CEVO-P. In addition, we will create an application process for teams that wish to be placed directly to CEVO-M. We will look at performance in other leagues (i.e., ESEA) to help us determine if we accept your team's application or not. More details on the way.

#1004 MAJOR TF2 update for 6/18/14 (6/19/14, Love & War) in TF2 General Discussion

But a promod would not only further the stereotype that 6s players are shitlords that can't adapt and are completely attached to our own little world, but later down the road when this nerf (and any other changes that may come up) fade from people's memories then any new player coming into 6s will have to relearn classes because what they have experienced is so much different than what they've already played. Further increasing the gap between 6s and pubs would end up causing more problems than it solves, and as painful as adapting to this and any future changes may be it's better than the alternative.

#2 Roamer LFT Open in Recruitment (looking for team)

Numbers and I have had a long history of playing together, we started a team together over a year ago and had been playing together until tonight. He's a very, very dedicated player who will put up with a lot of shit if it means playing video games with friends. He has a pretty great personality and is just a ton of fun to hang out with in mumble (there have been times where we had to put off scrimming because we were too busy losing our shit to see straight). If given the chance I have no doubt he'll make it to the big leagues.

Pick him up, he deserves the chance to shine.

#1 Roamer LFT Low-Mid Open in Recruitment (looking for team)

HI, I'm Jonesy. I'd like to play roamer in CEVO or ESEA Open. I really just want to play with some cool folks that want to improve, I'm fine with losing as long as my team is willing to talk things over and see what we could do better instead of just being a bunch of massive dicks to each other. I'm not the kind of person to freak out about the small stuff and tend to focus more on how to fix issues than dwell on them and try to place blame. I've dabbled in every other class, and would like to learn to play roamer.

My competitive experience:

UGC Steel Season 13, Fast Company
UGC Steel Season 14, Fast Company
ESEA Open Season 17, Fast Company

I have a very flexible schedule, besides work and HL I'm completely free. My HL team only plays on weekends and Mondays from around 9:30 EST to around 11. I get home from work at around 7:30 EST and don't go to bed until very late, so I'm free to scrim then. Obviously some things come up, but I don't really go out a lot so it's not like I'm going to just miss a week of scrims without warning.

I'd prefer CEVO but have no issues with ESEA.

Steam

EDIT: No longer looking.
