I also liked someone's (seanbuds?) suggestion to maybe start out with a Humble Bundle type system for league fees. Everyone has to pay at least $1, but you can pay as much as you want. I dunno which would be better to use initially, but I thought it was a good idea.

This is the kind of action our community has needed. If everyone who is done with ESEA starts to make plans to move to CEVO for this next season, we're gonna do just fine.
CEVO is where I plan to play after this season of E$EA is done.
Mr_OwlI'm gonna keep playing where I can pay to play against more dedicated competition. If ESEA is the only paid option, then I probably just won't play.
A free league is not a solution. Paying even a nominal fee keeps the competition more serious because it actually means something.
I'm sure the argument will be made that ETF2L is a free league and the prem players are super serious blah blah blah but I'm talking about NA TF2 here. We're used to a paid league and any time I've talked to people who play ESEA and then try free leagues, the same level of commitment just isn't there. There's no investment made, so it's a whole lot easier to dick around or just give up when things don't go your way.
I bet CEVO could be convinced to let us pay fees and use that money to increase the prize pot/pay new tf2 admins a small fee.
I like tf2 and I want to keep playing it. I doubt I'm alone in thinking that many of the esea teams and players from this season don't want to deal with ESEA's shit anymore. I don't care which league I play in (apart from ESEA), I just want to play the game with people in a competitive format.
If none of the teams from invite want to move leagues, I don't really care. If half the community stays in ESEA and the other half moves to a new league, I don't really care. I just want to play tf2 in a league that doesn't shit on my privacy.
I voted in that "League Choices Vote" that someone linked earlier, but I think we should do a new poll. Just figure out how much of the community wants to stay in ESEA, and how many want to move leagues. THEN we can talk about specifically which league to move to among those that are done with ESEA.
EDIT: I also forgot to mention that there seem like a TON of people willing to work on reforming our community in a new league (ie Fog, Owl, Nahanni and all the AG sponsor people). We just need all the players who are done with ESEA to pick a new alternative and start getting to work on making it happen. That can be as simple as just having everyone register for teams for the next season in the new league.
Noonathe thought of unifying the North American and Europe comp scene is really cool.
This is the biggest draw for me
I'm not racist but blinK is an asshole
Does that mean you're just banned from posting on ESEA? Or are you not allowed to play in ESEA anymore either?
Flavapuffdjcour hero and savior... will he ever return ;-;
Has anyone heard from him since his Birthday?
Maybe he accidentally killed the stripper that was hiding in his cake and had to flee the country.
I can't keep track of any of this shit either. Can we get a Fully Charged episode up in here to summarize all this? Maybe get some of the potential league admins for other leagues on as guests (i.e. Nahanni, Marxist/other UGC admin, a CEVO admin, ETF2L admin).
Would we have to start calling our scrims "Practice clan wars"? What about airshots? Do we have to start calling those "middies"?
Main-in-the-BoxCasters did a fine job. Getawhale fit right in and sounded great.
I have never heard of him, but I thought he did a pretty great job.
The idiocy in this thread would normally hold my attention, but it really doesn't compare to the b4nny thread right now.
BigmangabeAoshimaI've never seen stabby be a dick, overall.
He might be a bit dismissive of spies that focus on backstabs rather than distraction or overall impact, but that's just an opinion.
All in all, stabby is a pretty cool guy- I know a fair few folks that'd be far more arrogant if they were in his position.

He is a bigger dick than you think
Any time I've been in mumble with him he's seemed fine. But trying to prove you're better than some random pub troll by saying "hey have your team play my team" is pretty sad. Especially when you've managed to recruit players like Ruwin and Xalox to be on your team, cause then it's more like saying "Oh yeah? Well I bet my dad could beat up your dad!"
