are you sure you dont have anything on the custom folder? i dont think this could happen without a custom hud (maybe steam kept your old files on the cloud and now its back to haunt your ass)
i guess you could make sure theres nothing that contradicts those commands in tf/cfg/settings.cfg though i would just use mastercomfig instead tbh, that seems to be the modern standard.

sounds like a promising endeavor, i'll be following it closely.
i'll probably actually go ahead and make a channel that lists all pug places i can find a few times a year, wouldn't hurt to try!
mastercomsAlso, as a side note, I do understand that Pyro is not primarily an ambush class in 6s or even in Highlander in the practical sense. Players are much more aware, and it's harder to get an effective flank off. However, catching an enemy in a favorable engagement for her is a type of "ambush" in a design sense, and can come in many different forms involving positioning, denial of response through airblast, etc, or a combination of these factors.
I actually absolutely agree with that, there's lots of times where i see pyros being outdamaged in their best range on their best conditions and that just makes 0 sense.
I quite like the idea of rewarding constant flame contact on paper though... it feels like a very natural solution to the common complaints of pyro demanding no aim.
Recently, while introducing my friend to comp tf2, i realized just how much you have to search if you want to even dip your toes to see if you like it, search results and "resources" in comp tf2 places give you old outdated lists with dead websites and discords, and the only real way to find the current ones is to go around asking so maybe someone knows a guy who knows a place
These are obstacles lots of new players have to jump over in order to join the scene that could easily be removed if there was just some list that was updated even twice a year, at the top of every big comp page.
Hell, I would be willing to run a youtube channel that posts a video listing every live site/discord twice a year myself!
thats probably the first place they would look anyway!

cool as hell!!
any details on the flame density mechanic? most fixes to it i've seen make it ramp down instead of resetting completely when losing contact and basing damage off the youngest particle instead of the oldest, im assuming this was tried and failed.
if you want a pyro player's opinion on it, i kinda get the punishing aspect of ramp-up resetting completely, i think it would work somewhat fine if it didnt reset randomly for no reason.
run full time pyro deflect loch pipes problem solved i am unbiased

d1aM0nD5While I know it’s a shit post, I feel like animemans post about competitive format is older than you’ve been alive.
yes it probably is, i am 17 years old.
this post was born out of both frustration and fascination, have we really reached the optimal format configuration?
the only step forward i can think of is designing a new gamemode entirely, maybe tweaking an existing one cp_steel style.
skinnywhiteboyluvr765no stalemates per design in 5cp?
meant as in stalemating is a win condition and long ones are intended
botmodealso someone please fix sultry last it's boring and bad, actually ruins the map
WHAT!? are you crazy? we love watching the same map go on for 2 hours and then getting a pause!
within this image gur link:
lies my newest theory regarding the future of competitive " team fortress" formats, and the like.
i believe that, one day, team fortress 2 will DWINDLE in numbers. the poor competitive population will have to share their servers, but they wont want to, oh no, "how dare those filthy SPY MAINS slow down the game!" they will say.
"how dare those filthy SOLDIER MAINS remove my class!" they will say.
when you scrape the bottom of the barrel you wont have fingernails to scratch eachother with, you should know this you rats. you will have to reach a painful, terrible, agreement, you will need, a compromise. and you will realize, there is a common link, a beautiful, unbeloved, unappreciated overlap in the venn diagram, his name?: King Of The Hill.
though perhaps not the most fun gamemode, and perhaps not the most class compatible gamemode, it strikes a balance in a way i can only describe as "spicyyyyyyyy" and it may be your best bet, in the future, there will be no 18 players.
in the final evolution there will be 12 players, a class limit of 1, we will not have sniper, we will be playing koth, steel, and gravel pit, it will be called "super proffessionalander" and we'll all love it, and you'll thank me later...
