#12 A new, more in-depth hud guide initiative in Customization
main_gi-snip-

For future reference, my text is not aligned to the west (and I am assuming you mean the ammoinclip label). Everything is center-aligned, and there is 0 clipping in normal gameplay. This may not be true for large ammo counts in MvM, but my HUD does not support MvM and likely never will.

#1026 Show your HUD modifications! in Customization

I modified FM-II (from Garm3n's HUDs) to fix what I think were a few glaring issues (as well as some personal preference additions):
- removed center backgrounds while not in use
- removed team-colored backgrounds for target IDs and killpanels (as they were for the wrong team)
- greatly increased the size of the tournament spectator playerpanels
- moved sticky count and changed background color to increase readability
- added borders to control point icons

#3 Hud Comparisons in Customization

I'm not sure, but this might be possible through the use of Imgur albums. Separate albums for each HUD element such as you mentioned, all linked on one Imgur page (like yahud). It might even be possible to have some sort of gallery view of each subalbum on that one page, but I wouldn't know.

#11 textures in Q/A Help

It's a flat textures pack, being used on a server that doesn't quite support the flat textures. This effect happens more with the Flat World Textures pack than with the Solid Textures pack, in my experience (but it can still happen with either). The Solid Textures pack also allows you to see through chicken wire/metal grate textures (2fort grate or old Snakewater), unlike the Flat World Textures pack, so I would recommend using Solid Textures over Flat World Textures.

#9 Webdings/Wingdings Fonts? in Customization
tstmI have a suggestion, this us just an alternative to the font, you could always look into Font Awesome, very good series of well known and generic icons.

http://fortawesome.github.io/Font-Awesome/

But I have no idea how you would get them to work inside of TF2.

I don't think I need these icons to be honest.

#7 Webdings/Wingdings Fonts? in Customization
Rawrits possible. just need to extract the images u want and port over to another ttf using a font editor.

Alright, I was able to import the needed characters into another .ttf in FontForge. However, I need to use it with a "tall" value of 320; for some reason, it won't let me use anything above 80. Is there any way around this?

serfsDoes the circle behind HP reflect HP-value (like an HP-cross I mean)?

It (and the numerical health value) change color when low/buffed. I don't think it's possible to make the circle "fill up" the way the HP-cross can.

I can, however, make it a heart.

#5 Webdings/Wingdings Fonts? in Customization
Rawri just used it and the font becomes the default ttf. I digged into the wingdings 2ttf using fontcreator and realised that wingdings 2 had no abcd etc equivalent.

I googled and found out that the only way to add them into word was by using the the menu item insert or alt codes. Unless you can do this for tf2, I dont think its possible to use either fonts for your hud

That seems strange. By default, both fonts are installed on Windows systems and usable in Microsoft software like Word. I would have thought that if the fonts didn't have glyphs for alphabetical character inputs, you wouldn't see anything when using it in Word.

Since Guifx seems to work, would it be possible to port some of the characters from Webdings/Wingdings 2 into the Guifx font? Namely, the trophy (Webdings %) and the left/right half circles (Wingdings 2 º »).

#3 Webdings/Wingdings Fonts? in Customization

3. Thickness shouldn't be an issue, as I mentioned other fonts display fine.

4. The characters do, in fact, show, but they are characters from one of the default Fonts, and not Webdings/Wingdings. Therefore I assume sizes are not the issue.

I copied the Webdings/Windings 2 files straight from the Windows Fonts folder, but here they are (including AlternativeGothicEF-NoThree and Guifx v2 Transports): http://www.mediafire.com/download/5qgjhwl8wbiikmr/fonts.rar

#1 Webdings/Wingdings Fonts? in Customization

I can't get Webdings or Wingdings 2 to work in my HUD, despite being able to incorporate Guifx v2 Transports and AlternativeGothicEF-NoThree just fine.

I think I might be getting the names wrong, but I've tried Webdings and Webdings Regular + Wingdings 2 and Wingdings 2 Regular, with no success.

#7 Am I good enough to play in competitive TF2? in Q/A Help

Virtually everybody's first few 6s games are train wrecks, even in low-skill environments like Newbie Mixes/Lobbies. Many of them have the right DM, but none of them have experience and so they often lack confidence because of that. My advice is to just do it. The first few games will help you overcome an experience and confidence barrier even if you suck, as long as you get feedback (Newbie Mixes are the best for this).

As said above, another thing you can do to improve outside of playing the game is practicing your mechanics in MGE/DM/jumping or trying to gain knowledge by watching matches on streams/demos.

(Also, 6s skill transfers into Highlander better than Highlander skills into 6s, usually).

#4 How do I make this go away in Q/A Help
StaralphaIt's updated except for the killstreak I think, I just want to know what file I have to edit

Hi, you should be able to remove it by opening hudlayout.res and finding the controls named HudTeamGoal and HudTeamGoalTournament. Change the ypos of both from "75" to "9999", which should push it off screen. I would have done this myself but I can't for the life of me replicate the message on a local server (perhaps I have already removed it and forgot), so thank you for pointing this out.

For any other issues, you can post at the HUD's original thread here, or contact me directly.

#49 SMISSMASS UPDATE in TF2 General Discussion
mince__the changes to the banners, soda popper, and other items are far better than another shitty, broken item.

The weapon changes are nice, but it's unlikely any of them are going to make some sort of significant impact in the 6s gamemode, and that's what I really care about.
