this is very true. whenever I see someone pattern-match some words in a post/essay/opinion with their idea of a Bad Thing or Bad Opinion to have and dismiss it out of hand without trying to understand it, I find it especially painful because I'm embarrassed that I used to do that when I was first getting into politics a few years ago, and it stings to think of whom I've alienated or what insight I've lost from that act of mental laziness.

I had never really thought about how intrinsic rocket jumping was to TF2 but even the wikipedia article on rocket jumping is 80% about TF2 (and 15% about Quake). It's probably the most recognizable thing about the game, besides the Heavy (judging by his placement in 90% of TF2 marketing materials or promo shots).
