#21 tftv twitch reruns? in TF2 General Discussion
Vegan_MeatDavidTheWinVegan_Meatwhat gets muted other than the aids muzak?fade-Vegan_Meatwhat gets muted other than the aids muzak?
i think the whole part of the vod with copyrighted music or whatever gets muted

like the caster's voice and stuff too

If copyrighted music is detected in the VOD a 30 minute segment is muted around the music which usually covers a significant portion of the start/end of the cast

why don't you stop playing copyrighted muzak?

Most non-copyrighted stuff is pretty boring and since we don't use the twitch VODs for anything (except for otential playlist usage) we don't mind the twitch VOD being muted when we have the raw OBS output to upload instead. It also means I can play frag movies before the stream starts which is a hell of a lot more interesting than listening to just music, copyrighted or otherwise.

-leeDavid, my dude its just an idea no one HAS to do it but if anyone is interested maybe they could get in touch with TF.TV to try to make it happen...

And I'm explaining why it isn't practical at the moment.

hookyI would assume all that's needed is a dedicated streaming PC

Who is going to provide (at minimum) $5-600 for this computer?

hookyAlso, it would be a great idea to go back and edit the videos to remove delays and pauses, and also for time. The replays should be on a consistent time schedule so they don't get cut off by live content.

Who is going to spend the tens of hours required to edit hundreds of hours of VODs? Who is going to spend the time making sure the schedule is adhered to when they might not be at the PC when required?

It's not hard to just stream a VOD, I have most of everything I've streamed going back to about season 20. The problem is you need a machine dedicated to just streaming that content because if it's streaming you can't really do anything else with it that would make any noise that would show on the stream and you'd be dedicating around 4mb/s of upload to the task as well as a decent amount of cpu usage that contributes to power bills when it's running 24/7. There's also the issue of stopping the stream when it comes to live casts. Easy enough in a studio but if it's running off some guy's PC in his house and he's not in a position to be able to do it then you're shit out of luck.

Twitch have implemented a feature called playlists (I think it's still in beta) where you can pick a playlist of old twitch vods to play back. Our problem is a lot of these get muted and we'd have to highlight them every time to get the right portion of a cast.

It's a lot of work when you're a bunch of people doing it as a hobby. The best we can get at the moment is automated hosting of other twitch channels to make sure there's always some content at http://twitch.tv/teamfortresstv

popcorpInstead of waiting 30 mins between matches, you should've had an interview with team leaders about the match that they have played.

We'd have liked to do interviews but it wasn't something we could easily set up this time.

GazI wish these prolonged breaks would stop in the future. If the break during the coaching issue wouldn't have been so damn long, the grand finals might have had a conclusion. Some breaks were extended for some other reasons too. This all adds up.
Still a great LAN tho, props to the casters and players and especially the production team, you really have outdone yourselves.

Also can dashner upload the bumper? Would be neat.

That break was about as short as we could make it, it did genuinely take that long to reach a decision on the coaching. Other breaks were due to players needing quick breaks between maps. Breaks are inevitable at LAN, we can only try to minimise them.

Emkay made the bumpers and uploaded them here https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNJxq5vKbFaNquYTr7lCHpry3jV6IHqJP

#6 Upgrading GPU in Hardware

100-120 euro graphics cards are utter trash and a waste of your 100-120 euros. Save to around 200-250 and pick up an AMD RX480 when you can.

#69 DHS2016 GF: Perilous Gaming vs. nameLess in Matches
TimTum007Does this prove that Dreamhack only cares about games like LoL en CS:GO?

They're in a very different area. They have their own stages with dedicated seating, we're in a booth that's in the exhibitor area which doesn't allow event pass holders in after 21:00 and we already got an extension to 21:30. Dreamhack has never properly supported TF2 short of featuring DHW (and DHS? Not sure) on their site, our booth here is courtesy of a company called esport united.

#2 Coaches at LAN in TF2 General Discussion

Razerarena has a working coach system where the online coach is in the same position as someone spectating upon death where they can only spec their own team and can't free cam. It was allowed during the final qualifier just after it was introduced.
