#11 Interested in a team based scrimming website? in Projects
kounterpartsIs it going to bd rcon based a la TF2Center or will servers be provided, if so how will you get these servers?

Both, we'll host servers for VIP members. Maybe also for important matches like betting and such.

fatswimdudehow will it be better than http://scrim.me/? how do you plan on overcoming the main challenge of drawing users to your site over alternatives like the aforementioned site and irc?

After taking a quick look at scrim.me, I see that it's more about planning a scrim than actually playing it, I'm trying to create a system that speeds up the setup process and gets you playing within a few minutes of finding a matching team. This, of course, requires a lot of online users and a lot of user variety. It's all still in a planning phase, but ill keep everyone updated.

BUICKcould be a great time to put money/effort into something like this, with MM you will see a shit ton more 'teams' .. I think.

Though my question is this, in other games with 'matchmaking' do teams still try to scrim or just queue up together and treat them as scrims. (if there is a good ladder system involved)

Well in CSGO for example, ESEA and CEVO have done this as well. I'm guessing Valve will implement some sort of cooldown punishment like in csgo, so scrimming on external servers may become a thing(?)

#1 Interested in a team based scrimming website? in Projects

TF2Scrims is a project I've had in mind over the weekend and I feel like trying it out. Before I begin, keep in mind I'm in school, so don't expect this to be done soon. So keep this in the back of your head as a potential "oh that's pretty cool"-thing.

I want to make a website that simplifies scrimming for teams. Scrims.me and scrim.tf seem to have a lot of planning features, I'd rather go real-time like TF2Center. I want TF2Scrims to rely a lot on community feedback, that's why I announced it early so I can share ideas openly and make adjustments dynamically.

Little bit about me:
My name is Danian, I live in Switzerland. About 10 months ago I wanted to make a competitive league, massively underestimated the work and gave up, leaving the community with bad reputation. I've since then looked into web development and plan on doing it for a living when I'm out of school. I've worked on projects like http://arctekservers.com and http://csgocrush.com, i believe that I am capable of putting out something decent in my free time.

Since its starting to feel like a job application, I'll end it here and put some links for you to look at:

#1 What are teams looking for in sponsorships? in TF2 General Discussion

So I want to sponsor a co-branded team (me: Arctek Servers, them: Arctek eSports). I'm relatively new to the scene and I'd like to know what you guys think would be good for sponsorships?

Servers? Gear? etc?

Cheers

Daggeris your website some sort of john doe meme?

Anything that seems out of place is part of the template that I used as a foundation.

AdmirableComp players seem to love MGE and DM servers!
Have you thought about putting a team together from your community or maybe sponsors a team?

We do have a tf2 team (Arctek eSports) but we havent been prioritizing on it at all. We're only a small community at the moment, so sponsoring a team doesnt make much sense.

do0mpretty cool website you got there.
it would be cool to see you guys to give servers to things like pugs or tournaments in the future, or even sponsor a team
BarytaQYou might talk to one of the pug groups around and see if they need any servers. I don't know them well enough to really recommend any, but if you wanted to get your community involved with comp possibly talk to a low (iron-steel) pug group and see if they'd be willing to work with you all and get you guys into the scene.

Also DM and MGE servers are always a good way to go, especially if they're regularly populated.
AdmirableOh and you can also contribute your servers to the http://serveme.tf/ server pool

I think you guys misunderstood what we are, we're not a hosting service, we're a small server community wanting to buy servers to host for our players. Sorry for the mixup.

#1 A server community wanting to switch to Comp in Projects

Hey,
I've been managing some tf2 servers since 2013, I used to host a trading server back then but seeing how the trading community has kind of died out, I'm planning to convert my community towards training and competitive.

I'm planning to make a website that has a nice overview on our community (http://arctekservers.com/beta/). Not really sure where to start but I just wanted to get the word out that we want to support the comp scene.

We could host a few 6v6 servers with their own comp match plugins? Jump servers?

If this is the wrong place to post this, I apologize.
Either way, give me some of your thoughts or things you want to see.

A comp league is quite a large project to manage, I wont say to give up because that goes against my nature. Either way, good luck

EDIT: Apparently people are still mad at me for eSource .-.

unfDataHergankounterpartsIf you want this thread to close, just admit you were wrong and everyone will probably accept it.
You think it'll gonna happen?

Probably not, people are amused by this.
EDIT: Oops misread that.

Yes i admit i was wrong. I shouldnt have started eSource when the demand for it was so low.

this is just another way of saying "no community support"

Exactly.
