Snowball Shock Mount & Boom

LangeI was looking at that shockmount earlier. It does seem to be a very logical choice and the price is certainly reasonable.
How about a desk-mounted boom though? Most of what I found was either ~$100 or not sturdy looking at all. I'd rather not use trial-and-error to find out what is good.
pretty much that, once you put the mic on the boom your going to need to spend a decent amount to get something that's sturdy. Much easier to find a sturdy non boom mount. Like this http://www.amazon.com/Stage-DS7200B-Adjustable-Microphone-Stand/dp/B0002M3OVI/ref=pd_sim_MI_3
If your looking for something that won't get in the way alot and needs to reach pretty far you will have to spend some money on something decent.
