vanillaI can understand you not wanting to work on demo or soldier, so you snipe if scout is full. It's the people that go to DM servers for the sole purpose of playing sniper. And I think you just said it yourself why sniper is dumb, "You gain nothing out of the easy kill and the sniper isn't gaining anything by being constantly bombed." It's a lose-lose situation, so why would anyone go sniper in DM?
It is dumb, but I think the way to make the best out of it is by ignoring snipers. Killing them does nothing but waste your time and theirs. People sniping full time in DM is stupid, but if someone is sniping why go out of your way to make a stupid thing even worse?

Killing the sniper doesn't make him stop shooting because he spawns instantly.
Getting killed by the sniper doesn't make you lose anything either because you also spawn instantly. The only reason to dislike snipers in DM is because they make you lose your fights sometimes, but why do you care? It's dm.
Personally I play sniper when scout is full because I don't care to improve my soldier or demo DM since I don't play those classes. It actually annoys me quite a bit when soldiers or scouts go out of their way to kill a sniper in DM. You gain nothing out of the easy kill and the sniper isn't gaining anything by being constantly bombed.
