lucrativeYa they were informed, of course they were, maybe more follow up was needed but you guys are all acting like there was virtually no activity from TF2 admins. Im not defending ESEA or saying that what is going on isn't unprofessional or irritating but you guys are really going out of your way to put the blame on tri and killing in something that is basically out of their control.
I'm not putting any blame on the messengers, I'm just saying that if I was getting paid I perhaps would consider something like this:
'Hey programmer dude, remember that update that I told you about 5 days ago. Well the match for a shit ton of money is tonight and I was wondering if in your free time you got around to it?'

I adore casting, but multiple times this season I (and others) have cancelled plans only to have client issues cause us to not only not be able to talk about video games.. but end up blowing people/things off for no reason.
Now if TF2 updates an hour before the match? Acceptable but still rather annoying and *should* be able to be resolved. If it's not, I'm not that upset and move on with my life.
Last night? Completely mind-numbingly irritating, TF2 itself was updated 5 days ago. This wasn't any hour-before-the-match-surprise-update, these are the INVITE playoffs for god damn $16,000 (is that number right?)
lucrativeI 100% agree with you, but I also know for a fact that shooter and tri are always informing the programmers of the updates and at that point its really out of their hands as the tf2 admins.
So you 100% know that when the update happened 5 days ago they (the programmers) were told to update the servers by the TF2 admins? Even if this is true you'd imagine a follow up inquiry would be needed based on how bad they've been in the past, aye?
I don't know tri or killing personally, so I'm not in the market for slander/wondering why no one cared enough to think ahead/pay attention to the highest TF2 division in NA.. all I want to know is this:
Tri and/or Killing will the client be updated for tomorrow. Is it safe for me to plan on talking about video games?
