#29 Sister keeps torrenting in Off Topic

Try to find actual methods to solve your problems and not this childish shit that everyone is suggesting. Look up how to do QOS on your router and try that. Are you both on wifi? I got a etherent over power adapter when I was having the same ping problems. Having a wired connection over wireless is like pseudo-QOS and will solve most of your ping problems.
Have you actually tried talking to your sister? It sounds like you've complained to her and the only solution she sees is to stop torrenting, you know that shes not going to stop downloading her shows and music because you complain once in a while. Show her how to set her torrent client to only use 80% of the total bandwidth of your house, this should solve most problems, and she should still be able to download media faster than she can watch it.

If anyone has better parts please help me out

Your link goes to a 3570 non k edition(no overclocking).

Your cpu and mobo are incompatible, lga 1150 is for 4xxx processors and lga 1155 is for 3xxx processors.
The 4670k is the equivalent haswell gen proc: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116899

There is already thermal compound applied to stock heatsinks so you can nix that if your going to stick with a stock cooler for now.

I really do not think you need the 3GB version of the 770, the monitor you chose runs a max resolution of 1920x1080, and the 2GB version will work perfectly for you. You can save some money going for something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127741

#85 i'm tired of pretzels in TF2 General Discussion
wingboosterfanfuture--------snip-----
Oh baby. I found ya. I'm the "pretzel" this guy is talking about (aka walRUS no FUSS, that's my usual intake name and most people on my servers, Smell This Gaming, STgaming for short just call me rus).

This goon has been a prick in my nick since the day his little uppity behind stepped foot into one of my community severs. Listen the heck up, the only thing you've got twisted IS you. Commin in my servers and harassing my friends and players saying all sorts of sexual things to the girl gamers on our server? And you think I'd let you walk away without a ban? What so you can come back and make Trisha cry again? I don't think so kinkos.

Then I hear you're on fortresstvs talking like some big hard butt tissue. Well it looks like they have about as much patience for your microwave popcorn attitude as I did. Guess we're all just "pretzels" huh? Maybe we are all grains of salt on one giant pretzel, and you're pepper do you feel left out. No one else post in this thread for a while, me and this guy have a score to settle, and it could get nasty, so I don't want anyone else getting dragged into this mess.

Oh, and trisha has a message for you: twist this!

Is your server funded with autismbux?
Also, both of these guys are so terrible that this can only be solved by posting more pretzels.

#6 mobo for i5 3570k ? in Hardware

Also there is no such thing as a 3750k. I know you probably meant 3570k but it was really confusing for a moment. The 4670k is almost exactly the same as the 3570k configuration wise but its the fourth gen of the core I series, and between 5-10% faster.

#5 mobo for i5 3570k ? in Hardware

If you are going to buy right now definetly go for the amazon 4670k, just remember that the 4670k uses the z87 chipset, not z77. This is actually a good thing, as haswell boards are generally cheaper than sandy/ivy bridge ones due to some motherboard components being shifted onto the processor.

I generally go for the cheaper high-end(z87) mobos that have good reviews. They will allow you to get a moderately high overclock and they are perfectly fine if you don't need a shit ton of extra features. If your on a budget I would get this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157370 along with the 4670k from amazon.

This is probably not what other people use but it's something to try:

I don't even know if it works in reverse but you might as well test it out.

#52 ESEA in TF2 General Discussion

If this fixes the problem, it's so beneficial to them for the cost it requires its ridiculous.(one extra server being used during cast times)

More viewers= more people interested in comp tf2=more teams=more $.
We have seen viewer count drop directly related to stv problems. It's embarrassing that we've had whole seasons with problems with the stv that they've been trying to fix and nothing to show for it. This can't be this easy to fix.

#47 ESEA in TF2 General Discussion
LangeESEA has never intentionally put casters on a separate STV relay. ESEA does sometimes have multiple relays for a game (if one gets full, their system automatically creates another relay and forwards new traffic to it), but it's not with any sort of priority.

Do you think this is worth a try then? It seems like it would solve alot of stv problems and wouldn't be hard to start up during those big casts. I don't see why we aren't doing this.

#45 ESEA in TF2 General Discussion

Are the casters using the same STV that is being handed out on the esea page? Shouldn't they be on a separate STV proxy to avoid it being DDOS'd or being overloaded? I know esea and possibly insomia LANs have done it before I'm just wondering if its still the case.
To illustrate from the valve dev page on sourcetv

Here is what It looks like it is now:

How we do it to avoid problems:

That way even if the public STV has problems you still have the cast and the huge twitch.tv network to back it up. Excuse me if i'm completely wrong about this I just want a smooth cast :(
