that's really funny because dota 2's pub community is horribly acidic, but everyone i've met on there that is getting into competitive play is super humble and always willing to help out their teammates. in tf2, the pub community is super nice and welcoming and friendly (i guess maybe it goes with how pub games are played in the first place, it's a very non-ragey environment), but then once you get into comp, it feels like most people in the community are assholes.

After reading that there was an estimated $250,000,000 of bets that changed hands because of that call in the GB-SEA game, I knew that they'd get the replacement refs out before another game was played. It's just too much money and too big of a risk that a ref might be making bets as well.

hey i haven't read any of the rest of the thread up until this so if someone already said it, my bad, but this is a great opportunity to change leagues. i mean, how nice would it be to have a community governed league that can weigh the community opinion in when to exercise rules and when to bend them? if this was a community driven league, this might still happen, but the whole community would have a say in how to fix it, move forward from it, and improve as a league and a community. ESEA is shitty for tf2 players; it's the general consensus. let's stop bitching about it and do something. if the community can send two teams to europe they can do this!

Plane tickets suck no matter where you go but they suck less the less distance you have to travel. I just pricelined a random date (round trip on the 27th back on the 30th for both searches), and got $250 for a flight from LAX to DFW, and back, vs $460 for a flight from LAX to PVD, and back. that being said, if a team has 3 players on the west coast, that's a difference of $630 in airfare.

and if you wanted to add a personal flair you could add in something like this: "MVP: Platinum (36-22, 12533 DMG, 296.3 DPM)"

If it was possible to do, you could put in spoilers for everything, and have a checkbox at the top that says "Show all match results" and that'll show everything, but it's defaulted to being unchecked.

On topic though, the game does get boring. It definitely got really boring for me. At the end of the day you need to ask yourself if it's worth it to you. Can you have sustainable fun playing the game, or are you going to be spending most of your time figuring out how to make the game fun for you? If it's the latter, it's probably not worth it.

no need for 24 hour format. and if you can't tell what the p and e are for when there's two times that are 3 hours apart, that's a personal problem, not mocha's issue to fix.
