ComangliaReal Update rates and cmd rates constantly fluctuate. Updaterate in general you'll average around 66/s but it can be as high as ~68.x or be much lower if on a overloaded server. CMD rate should be relatively constant provided you have 66+ FPS even then usually a PC still can keep up at 66 even thought the client is running at ~40fps.
The rate switching is due to server configuration sv_maxrate is what's capping it.
so if you haverate 400000
And you play on server A withsv_maxrate 100000
Your rate will be capped to 100000
and if you join server B withsv_maxrate 60000
Your rate will be 60000
sometimes i feel like after i join a capped server, and than without restarting the game and join a different server that has a higher rate, the rate stays the same as low as the first server i joined. is this a placebo thing that i'm feeling or is it that the rate stays capped as the one before?
what i mean is if server A with 60000 and i join server B with 100000 does it stay 60000 or goes to 100000?
