It might be nice to make it so we can choose which forums we want represented in the Forum Activity sidebar. For example, I might not want to see threads from TF2 Help but I might want to see Recruitment threads. Thoughts?

ETF2L is using a method which sounds some what like your request seems to be. On ETF2L it's part of the profile customisation. You simply select all the forums you want to follow and articles appear in your right column. http://etf2l.org/wp-admin/profile.php .

On ETF2L the options you can choose to follow are:

-General TF2
-Training and Tactics
-Maps
-Movies
-TF2 customisation and support
-HUD releases
-Streams
-General ETF2L
-Feedback and requests
-Announcements
-LANs

-Dutch Forum
-Finnish Forum
