So I restarted Steam and updated, and now TF2 crashes to desktop with no error when I start sending client info when loading into a server. I was able to narrow it down to my game being set to DX8, as when I set it to DX9 it loaded just fine. Anyone else have this issue after updating Steam?

This is a common bug that happens in all DX versions. It was introduced a few patches ago and Valve has yet to fix it. You can help by sending the contents of the file with "hl2" in the name in your (steam folder)/dumps folder to erics@valvesoftware.com with a description of the bug.
