please rate on the quality including for the price it is.

will probably be getting the BenQ xl2420t, free shipping onsale for $320.

i might be getting this for my 16th birthday (jan. 13th) and i want to know if this is a decent 120hz monitor

edit: If I use 1366x768 my current res)just to get constant 120 fps, will that higher my input lag? if so, by how much? substantial amount? or small amounts?

If I was going to spend anywhere near the cash required for a new 120Hz monitor I would hold out for the benq xl420t or the asus vg236h.

He's how that monitor holds up against those 2 I mentioned;

Samsung S23A700D: 12-13ms @120hz
BenQ XL2420T: 3ms @120hz
Asus VG236H: 3ms @120hz

i guess i'd get the benq xl2420T, because it is onsale for $320 with free shipping in canada. i wasnt aware that the input lag was 12-13 ms.

I'm using this monitor right now. It's picture perfect, and I'm not sure why it gets all the hate and/or the 12-13 ms accusations. Are there any sources behind these? I'd recommend it as a first time 120 Hz user. If that holds any worth.

response time is 2 ms which is what the 2ms means in the desc. of the monitor, which is good.

ignore that statement from flippers. He's talking about response time, not input lag.

EDIT: he corrected his post :)

I guess what I'm trying to say is:

The Samsung feels extremely responsive, only those who are die hard CRT Anti-Vsync users will take issue with the Samsung's delay.

then i would recommend the benq xl2420t which is currently on sale at ncix! also if u buy at memoryexpress u can price match with ncix! for example the monitor is 350 at memory express and 320 at ncix, u pay 313 at m.express.

use the maxframes config, you should easily get enough fps to play 1080p
