Lately when I play tf2 my audio is messed up.

- Hitsound sounds very weird:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNC5eRwNRbc

- The sound of rockets gets cut off after the first few frames of the rocket being fired ( no example sorry )

- Spawnsounds in MGE are very hard to distinguish and to predict the right position

I tried:
- Verify Integrity Game cach
- Change audio settings between low / medium / high
- dsp_slow_cpu
- snd_async_flush
- snd_async_fullyasync

I'm playing on Windows 8 and I heard from others that have W8 too that have the same problem.

Does any1 know any fix for this?

DrewThis only happens in TF2 for you?

Yes. This only occurs in Team Fortress 2, not in other games or while browsing the internet and playing audio / video files.

Sorry I don't know what DAC means, but the problem occurs with both my USB headset (which has its own soundcard) and my onboard soundcard when I play with my speakers on.

Digital audio converter. You can think of it as an external sound card.

You should try stress testing prime95 over night. Make sure it can actually last 30 minutes so you don't waste you're time.
