Subforums for newer players

This site caters well to the elite of TF2 competitive at the moment. If you want it to have more activity and promote more players getting into the scene, make some other subforums for highlander players, new competitive player discussion, etc. The mentoring forum will probably take off if more people feel free to contribute to some other part of the forum.

Maybe a specific "New to 6s" and "New to Highlander" discussion area would be good?

Yeah, keep the "new to" subforums more moderated than the others, perhaps?

This, god, or enigma, please - this. It's so hard to, for example, find a team on etf2l with all the memes, trolls etc.

I've mentioned etf2l - more than half of the posts there contain troll comments, namecalling etc. This might be more evident in local posting (by country) but it really is showing how immature ppl can be. Not trying to put myself in good light here, and granted my skill is sucky, but I'd like to get into comp with serious players, not some fresh out of highschool lolers.

The "troll" comments are typically jokes by friends of the player in the recruitment post to bump their submission back to the top of the list. Perhaps you are misunderstanding? Very few recruitment posts on etf2l get proper fighting unless they're by konr.

I understand that some of the comments and the LFT/LFP positing are made by friends just for shit and giggle, but it's really hard for new players to see past that. That's why I'd vote for more strict moderation in the "newsb" forums.
