n00pereqqyi wish i was having problems for having too much fps :( I don't wanna be rude or anything but I think you guys miss the point. I'd rather have much lower and stable fps over having peaks up to 2000 frames per second. As I said earlier fps_max seems to work but I really don't know how to get rid of that mouse lag.

try a different fps_max maybe, if that doesnt work update some drivers and if that doesnt work try a different mouse see if the problem is still there.

Yeah I will try that, thanks. I think it might have something to do with Windows 8.1 though.

freq*2+1 is an arbitrary value. You can cap it anywhere as long as it's over the refresh rate and the cmdrate/updaterate.
