Ok so the strangest thing just happened to me. My z key has stopped working- I had to type 'a to' into google and copy and paste the letter z. It's not my keyboard because it doesn't work with any of the 3 keyboards I have and ctrl+z comands still work. I'm really confused as to what happened and any help would be much appreciated.

Have you installed any sort of software that runs automatically that would use z as a shortcut?

Dude. Thank you. Somehow wsplit didn't close properly and was still open and z is one of the hotkeys for it.
