#3756 PC Build Thread in Hardware

Sweet I'll probably do that then. If I can get away with just a GPU upgrade I may as well do that.
My current PSU is the EVGA SuperNova 850 G2L, so I should be okay there.
I also looked up Cyberpunk recommended settings out of curiosity, and their recommended Intel CPU is actually the 4790k anyways.

Appreciate the help!

SetsulGet new GPU and use GPU encoding (though you can even try that now).
Then maybe get a 5600X if for some reason you still think you need it.

If I'm only getting a new GPU, would something like the upcoming 6800XT be overkill for my setup?

(Checked my SL settings, already using GPU encoding)

Yeah the upgrade is mostly just for gaming/streaming. My current GPU was bought around the time of Apex's release since with my previous GPU the fps was pretty terrible even with everything as low as it could go.
Right now I'm able to play Valhalla on medium settings but the fps is pretty bad (guessing around 30 but I can edit this post after I test it).

I tried streaming Valhalla and with streaming at 720p60fps I was getting massive frame drops until I changed my output to 30fps and set StreamLabs priority to high, but even then going back to the vod the gameplay looked super choppy.

So getting a 5600x and putting the money I save on it compared to the 58/89 towards a better GPU would be a good option?

AbsoluteZerozigzterBeen looking at a Ryzen 3900x maybe, or the 5800x/5900x? Budget I'm flexible with, thinking around $1,000-$1,500 CAD. Usage-wise, mostly gaming (AC:Valhalla atm) and a bit of streaming.12 cores is overkill for that price range, get the 5600x when it comes out.

How much higher would I have to go for it to be worth a 5800x? The $1,500 isn't a hard cap but I'm not looking to spend like $3,000 either.

Edit: To update my original ideal specs, I was thinking being able to output Valhalla (or similar) at 4K to my TV would be perfect so I could just game from the couch when I want to.

Looking at finally upgrading again, and as usual I'm completely out of the loop on pc parts. I'm thinking of a full replacement so I can just sell off my current one.

Current build:
CPU: i7-4790k
GPU: RX 580
RAM: 16GB 2400
Mobo: Asus Z87-A
SSDs: 2x some regular SSD 256GB each, 1x SN750 1TB (NVMe)

I'd def keep the NVMe as it's a recent purchase, and I'm currently using an adapter so it would be nice to have a mobo with a proper slot for it. I was also considering keeping the RX 580, but I'm hesitant as it would make selling it more difficult.

Been looking at a Ryzen 3900x maybe, or the 5800x/5900x? Budget I'm flexible with, thinking around $1,000-$1,500 CAD. Usage-wise, mostly gaming (AC:Valhalla atm) and a bit of streaming.

I didn't know him well, but he always struck me as a great guy, and he was terrifying to play against.

adyskySpaceCadetadyskyBalloons, the popping sound
Since childhood
I have a fucking phobia not kidding dont even get close to me with those crafts of satan

What about fire crackers and/or people shooting guns near you?
Yeah fuck that also, just loud unexpected noises in general

I have this too.

If I'm expecting a loud noise (train coming, dogs, even the honks from cars locking) I'll get extremely stressed which just makes my reaction to the noise worse.

#34 Weirdest People You've Encountered in Off Topic

Oh boy.

My work hired this old Indian lady to be a "department sales manager" which basically means 2nd assistant manager and being in charge of all of shoes and industrial clothing. She had this annoying high pitched voice and would constantly drone on about nonsense either to people or if no one was listening to her (very likely), to herself. She'd ask constant questions with bad timing that usually had nothing to do with work, like asking my coworker questions while he was vacuuming, or asking me constant personal questions when I was trying to read on my break.
She'd also constantly lie about things and had some serious trouble understanding extremely basic things. One example being our back door alarm. It's an extremely simple system where you just stick your key in and turn it left to arm the alarm, and right to turn it off. I showed her how to do it and figured that was that.
But no, every time there was a delivery/pickup and she had to open the back door, she asked me how to turn the alarm off. After about 6 times of failing to explain this extremely simple task, I get frustrated and put a sticky note up next to the alarm with a drawing of how to turn it off and on. The next time the back door bell goes she comes up to the door and asks me again how to turn the alarm off, so I point at the drawing. She just stares at it blankly for a few seconds, then stares at me for a few more, then hands me her keys for me to turn the alarm off. A bunch of my coworkers (including the ast. manager) didn't believe me when I told them, so they all ended up trying to show her how the alarm works.
None of them succeeded.
Eventually she quit after turning our shoe and industrial departments into a complete disaster and never learning how our alarm system works despite the fact that I could probably teach a 5 year old how it works.

Hopefully no one from HR finds my post and fires me.

faggetIs the matchmaking shit in that game? why would these two ever play against each other?

Placement matches puts you against all sorts of players.

Although I think he mentioned in his video that he played pie several times in a row, which is odd if all the scores were similar.

Plus as Kav said, there aren't a ton of players.

Highlight:
TF2 isn't a hard game to play, anyone can play in a league and do good because the game genuinely doesn't require any skill. I play TF2 for about 6 hours a week and I get hackusated repeatedly because TF2 is an easy game to pick up and play.
