Hello, again, mercs!

We fixed some popular problems with this project that we are proud of!

No 16:10 or 4:3 yet, that takes a little more time, but we think we can get it done this weekend.

Come and get it!

Here is a list of everything so far that needs to be fixed.

  • Scroll-y bit on the scoreboard??
  • Closer inspection of the inspect panel on killcam
  • 16:10 and 4:3 support (this was made on 16:9)
  • And the minmode points thing that the person below me said.

Sorry for not fixing stuff for the past couple of days. I have gone to school to learn how bears' brains work so I can outsmart them as well as outbrawn them. If I have time I will have the eggheads look at these three things and get a fix out some time soon.

GrimScorponly issue i have is when there are a lot off people on one team it starts cutting off/blocking the pings on the scoreboard
not sure how to fix it :C

That is interesting as well as weird. It must be because of the update last night that is continuing making the UI more like our half-brother, CounterStrike (this is not a bad thing!!).
We'll look into it.

KaeyelIs there a way to add A/D scrolling through your inventory? I've gotten used to it since it's in BWHud (I think) and moving items around without it is a pain.

That's incredibly reasonable! Of course!

DeathyI can't see the yellow server timer, and I'm not sure what I did wrong

Neither do we, to be quite frank!

EDIT: Actually, we might.

tf_hud_show_servertimelimit 1

Put that in your console/config.

Andalso is it me, or is the death cam only occasionally shows your opponent's health?

edit: after a few tests it seems to be if your opponent is below half, you can't see his health.(or maybe when there's animation involved?)

Hello!

The killerpanel does not animate upon low or high health. We are making a patch so it DOES change color upon those, similar to tournament spectator.

This patch will also fix the bug where the ugly-ass cross showing its head upon buff or hurt health, the avatar on the killerpanel disappearing in the killer's name, and the killer's name font not being right.

beastieI really like this HUD. I really dig that there are no boxes around the health and ammo and that even when buffed/low health it only changes the color of the numbers and doesn't add that disgusting cross behind the numbers. I also noticed the missing map timer and although small and not too important I'd like a "last damage done" tracker maybe underneath the ammo? I managed to add one for myself but I dunno if other people would like that too other than that it looks clean. Keep up the good work.

The damage account is here

DanceNumberIs it just me or is there no round timer on the HUD. I like the big yellow map timer, but i would really like for their to be a round timer right below it of a different style/color.

The server time was made to be very large as that is a more stable time source rather than the round timer, especially for those playing the Medic class. We just added a dark round timer below it, just in the event a map times out or some garbage.

DanpixedI've got a strange rectangle in the center of my screen (just left of the crosshair)
http://i.imgur.com/h5Y8yVN.jpg

In the initial release of the Mannterface, I made the crosshair character "0", not looking at Knuckles' image, thinking "0" would be blank! But it's not! I fixed this in the most recent version (15.08.26.2), making it something else, and making it both disabled and invisible.

Knuckles_On that note thanks for using my font <3

I hope it becomes the standard (if it is not already), because it should be!

xattuuyou literally just took the scoreboard from my hud.

you have a beautiful hud but would have been nice if you asked ya know? x] me and eric put a lot of work into this hud

OH, I knew I was forgetting an essential part of the main post! Thank you for reminding me!
You see, as I said above, we looked through many different projects for inspiration and all that baloney.
You and Eric's scoreboard from xHUD was simply the best (better than all the rest)! It fit our vision for the Mannterface to a T!

I will, right now, go through each part of the HUD and give credit to the different parts in the original post, as well as append them to this post for easy viewing both ways! Ta-ta!

EDIT:
Uber Full - Idea of non-repeating animation on full-charge inspired by Griever's ToonHud
Includes Transparent Viewmodels! - komorebi and Jarate King's Transparent Viewmodels
HL Scoreboard - Scoreboard from Xattuu and Eric's crazy-sexy xHUD
6’s Scoreboard - Scoreboard from Xattuu and Eric's crazy-sexy xHUD
Main Menu - From Drom's unfinished project
Loadout Subpanel - From Drom's unfinished project, used in Intellectual's medHUD
Loadout - From Drom's unfinished project, used in Intellectual's medHUD

Includes Knuckles’ Crosshairs!

EDIT:

kirbyAll of this is amazing, but one thing's bugging me. On the loadout subpanel, can I get a version with all the class portraits not tilted? :x

Not unlike The Combat Medic's Crusher Cap and the Heavy Artillery Officer's Cap (buy our hats), these are permanently tilted.

If there were a way to tilt or rotate elements in this damned game, you bet your ass the low- and high-health animations would be even more fun than they are now AND those photos would not all be tilting in the same direction.

Those are placeholders. We'll find better, non-custom Valve Texture Files to replace those.

N1ghTAren't Transparent Viewmodels rip?

Transparent viewmodels do not rest in peace! They are not dead at all! Rather, they rest in pieces! Multiple pieces! Working only in DirectX 9.

mat_motion_blur_enabled 1 //afaik the only sure-fire way to keep refract masking on
mat_motion_blur_strength 0 //effectively disables motion blur, personal choice + motion blur gets masked and looks bad with refract masking
mat_disable_bloom 1 //disables bloom so refract masking doesn't create a dark rectangle over light materials
 mat_hdr_level 0
 mat_colcorrection_disableentities 1
 mat_colorcorrection 0

Put that little number in your automatically executing configuration file (making sure your graphical modifications do not repeat any commands and override them).

Then go to the scripts\hudlayout.res file. Near the top will be TransparentViewmodelMask. Make sure that "visible" and "enabled" are both "1".

An acquaintance has brought to my attention that the highlander scoreboard does not work the way it should. I am also going to make the Transparent Viewmodels off by default for our friends stuck in DirectX 8.

This baby is getting its first ever update!!

DougFor a moment I thought TF2 updated to support custom huds officially :(

This is an alternate, benevolent Mann Co.! You were mistaken for a hot second.

LATEST UPDATE: 17.08.03.0 (HAPPY NEW YEAR!)

A LETTER FROM THE CEO

Nearly eight years ago, a few of the mercenaries I sold weapons to complained about an issue. Apparently, they had a hard time keeping track of how many rockets their hairless chests could take before they dropped dead. And how many grenades could tickle the fool faces of their mates until they dropped dead too. And how many bullets they had left to jam into their high quality Mann. Co guns to make stuff more deader (we here at Mann Co. want only the highest grade of dead resulting from our product) before they are a sitting, idiot, soon dead, duck.

I said to them, well, that’s ridiculous. Just kill the other men with your bare fists. Take it from me, Saxton Hale: if they are dead, they can’t hurt you, and your fists never run out of ammunition. My assistant, Mr. Bidwell, informed me that some of you play with “tagg-ticks” and “strangle-tees” which I thought was ridiculous and utter bull!@#$, but the man hadn’t failed me yet.

I took his advice and told the eggheads in our Mann Co. Design Dept. to fashion some sort of way for those little girls in the gravelpits to see what the hell was going on in the fight.

After what was obviously a mere few hours, they brought to me something called a heads-up display. Of course, I wanted the mercs to effectively test their weapons with some information about themselves and the product they were using in mind. I had never seen a heads-up display before then so I had nothing to compare it to. So I said yes, give it to them.

Over these last eight years, some particularly clever mercs found out a way to crack into the files that make the heads-up display tick and modified it. They changed positions of elements, changed colors and fonts used, added some things the eggheads overlooked, and shared it with the other mercs.

I, myself, along with the eggheads at the Mann Co. Design Dept., examined these modifications that were made over the few years, and very much enjoyed the innovations.

We decided that the original heads-up display simply did not cut the mustard of these fighters’ standards.

We needed to rebuild.

Of course, we needed to keep that special Mann Co. je ne sais quoi that we were known for. So we vowed when we started the project that we would only use resources from the original heads-up display to keep that aesthetic and flavor intact.

And then I left them to it.

This summer, many drafts of this new project were made. Many were made and thrown out, and some had aspects that were preferable. Those aspects survived all the way to the final product. Those were the most fit. The product below is the fittest heads-up display we have made, and we sincerely hope you like it.
