#7 Help please with fps drops? in Hardware

I’m starting to think my issue is the cpu and it’s not the gpu. This particular cpu does overheat quite a bit, it’s usually somewhere between 82-84 degrees celcius at its peak when playing a game.

#5 Help please with fps drops? in Hardware

Update: Later on it reverted back to the 60 fps show :(. I’ve done everything I can imagine, set it to high performance, set the game to run with the graphics card, and it all has no difference in performance to the integrated card :(. Please help if anyone knows how to fix this. Setting nvidia control panel to use nvidia 1060 did not work.

#4 Help please with fps drops? in Hardware

@drifta no it’s on balanced right now, but I plug it in so I don’t think the battery is the problem.

@gemm thanks I checked and it said nvidia 1060 so I really don’t know what the problem is.

Edit: Found a setting in nvidia control panel called “Power management mode”. By default it’s on “Optimal power”. After switching it to “Prefer maximum performance” my problem has been fixed.

Ty to all those who replied

#1 Help please with fps drops? in Hardware

Hi I currently use this gaming laptop.

I use the comanglia stability config in-game. Usually when I first start the game I get somewhere between 120-200 fps and in the middle of a scrim or casual game the fps drops to an average of 60. This is really concerning and it seems like maybe it’s using the integrated graphics card instead of the nvidia 1060.

This is very weird because in the nvidia control panel I have it set to use nvidia 1060 for tf2. Also yes for those wondering the laptop is plugged in.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

#1 Woah Valve actually listens to reports in TF2 General Discussion

I was very surprised. But this is amazing, it means Valve actually does look at reports of people and bans them.

#8 Woolen's video on why each weapon is banned. in TF2 General Discussion
GrapeJuiceIIIJojo a ton of the comments are awful.
count em up. not 1, not 2 but 3 in a row

video was really good. i appreciate how much effort and research was put into this

The second comment in that picture isn't wrong. A lot of weapons that have been nerfed quite a bit haven't been re-tested. For example the dragon's fury became a lot more difficult to use in the last update with the big hitbox reduction and I don't see any testing regarding that.

Tino_yightif anything hes slightly underrated
Maybe, I just see lots of people say blaze is the best roamer ever and I am not sure if thats right.

He's won every international lan he's ever participated in and has always had very impressive stats along with it.

#7 Wizard101 was great and still is in Other Games

It'd be a better game if you didn't have to pour so much money into the game just to keep playing.

#15 Game on Game SVIFT warpaint in the workshop in TF2 General Discussion

Looks really sweet, maybe if enough of these permanent team brand war paints are made Valve can make a case with them in a future competitive update or something.

#15 Class Change Nerf Idea in The Dumpster

I don't have any plans to seriously implement this into the game. I'm just interested in hearing the community's thoughts on it. It's clear that most people think it's a horrible idea, but sadly very few people are saying why they believe it's a horrible idea.

But if somebody wanted to put this into the game, they could test it in a tournament or something.

#11 Class Change Nerf Idea in The Dumpster
VeccI don't think you understand anything about TF2, OP

If you truly believe that, then please enlighten me on why this would be a bad idea. Calling me ignorant accomplishes nothing.

BumFreezehow would this idea fix anything to do with class limits or weapon bans? only thing it might do is stop snipers being stood in spawn doorsBumFreezemedics being able to overheal each other, demomen being able to sticky the same point/ several doors at once, engis being able to tank one building to stop it ever going down are all pretty unfixable problems. class limits are necessary.

Rescue Ranger for example is abused by waiting in spawn, healing the sentry, and then quickly switching off to a regular class once your sentry is destroyed, with no risk to yourself. A nerf like I proposed would punish this and basically give the attacking team a 5v6 for 3 seconds after taking down the sentry. The same thing applies to a sniper.

I think maybe this nerf should only apply to last in 5 cp, because that's the only place it's a massive problem. I'm not suggesting that a nerf like this would un-ban every weapon or completely remove class limits. But a lot of classes used to have a class limit of 2 and maybe we could return to that, and rescue could definitely have potential to be un-banned because it's only overpowered when defending last in 5 cp.
