We should ask the community to solve everything. Hey guys what kind of gay porn should i watch before i go to bed?

It wouldn't bother me at all if a team ran all off classes. Thats what ive been confused about this whole time, I cant fathom being upset that froyo off classed vs a team well below their level.

And I'm also confused by your plea to ask the community, because yes the community wouldn't exist without twitch viewers, but that doesnt give them the power to make any decisions for froyo. Whats your point?

Whether its fine by me or not is irrelevant. I don't sit here watching tf2 streams trying to "correct" the way anyone plays a video game, I don't feel that it's really up to me, or anyone else in twitch chat.

How entitled do you have to be to make such a big deal out of an online tf2 match so insignificant?

Because we all know everyone on froyo should play the way everyone in twitch chat deems proper.

I love how suddenly we have to have a thorough investigation and figure out this tragedy of a match that ruined everyones night. Honestly they can play their videogame the way they want to, and the real problem is an invite level team shouldn't be losing to 2 snipers.

Trivial in the competitive sense. As in they don't feel compelled to play their hearts out, or anywhere near that. Why do they play? for fun. I bet they had a lot of fun tonight too. Except for lansky. I bet he was raging.

Getawhaledummyis this actually serious? im genuinely asking because i cant fathom anyone being seriously upset about this. The stakes are lower than ever in invite, and on top of that it's a random regular season match vs a team that they can apparently beat with double sniper (i didn't watch it but thats what it sounds like here)

As disappointing as it might be to watch that match, what on earth were you even expecting going into it? Are you upset you didn't get to see a sub 10 minute 5-0 that should've happened? Being slightly annoyed about it is one thing, but I can't wrap my head around making this a big deal.

A 3peat ESEA LAN/World champion team playing an online match with a standin vs a rookie invite team in a season that probably has the least stakes in years. At this point theyre just playing a video game and trying to have fun?

I think people are more concerned because these are supposed to be eSports. And if a team did shit like this in REAL spectator sports.. it would be ridiculous. What if a hockey or basketball player wanted to pad his stats so he just shot the ball or the puck every time he got it, no matter where he was. Is that sports? Is there no such thing as the spirit of the game?

If I were to take a stance, I'd say keep the shenanigans to your scrims or pugs. Good times. Fun, it's a game, etc. But I think it's disrespectful and unsportsmanlike to fuck around like that. If you paid 85 bucks to fuck around like that, people aren't going to want you on their team very long. And opponents aren't going to have a shred of respect for you.

Froyotech can do it and still win. But what would happen if a medic on another Invite team decided to go Vaccinator to pad their fantasy stats? How long do you think that team lasts as a group?

That basketball and hockey analogy doesn't apply here at all. They get paid millions to do everything in their power to win. Froyotech players are in their bedroom playing a videogame for fun on a wednesday night, in a match where they have no incentive to play their heart out.

This isn't even CSGO level. Cloud9/CLG/NLM couldn't even fathom fucking around to this extend vs the bottom of their division because the level of skill isnt as sparse in those games. The biggest issue by far in all of this is the skill gap and you guys choose to focus on the most irrelevant aspect of it while throwing ludicrous sports analogies that don't apply at all.

Also... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emCQnhD544g

In a perfect world, yes, everyone plays their heart out and its a 5-4 nail biter. But in the real world there are going to be matches where the world champions might fuck around because theyre not being paid to play this trivial match against team goldfish

AlkalineAlthough it may have been amusing in the moment to see Clockwork and Serv0 run double sniper and Shade run vaccinator, looking back on it, I actually find it disrespectful. People like me, but much more so people like Dashner, Extine, tsc, uberchain (and dozens more), spend a lot of time trying to promote competitive Team Fortress, with a goal of showing the larger TF2 and eSports communities that competitive is a serious eSport worthy of consideration for sponsorships and viewership.

If Froyotech doesn't want to scrim, that's 100% fine. If they even don't want to take individual moments or rounds seriously, that's also OK.

But if certain people on that team no longer take the game seriously, and care more about some gimmick like Fantasy than the game itself and its livelihood... Then that's a problem. A big problem. And although there's no rules against what Froyotech did, I find it a huge disappointment as a fan of the game.
