tornados2111BlurrlolI don't get it. Valve seem to be all about supporting esports for cs go and dota 2. Why not tf2? They know it's a thing but it's almost as if they don't want people to go from dota and cs to tf2. The only thing I can think of is that dota has the new banner system in which valve can monetise completitive matches. But still, couldn't they implement something like that into tf2? I really think tf2 can go so far as an esport but publicity is the bottleneck, at least in my opinion

the games you listed were created in a competitive mind set. Tf2 is mostly a pub game.
Its really simple. Pubs in dota2/csgo are at least the same format as competitive play, the only difference is the skill of the players. Tf2 pubs are completely different format, maps, weapons, and player skill.
Not to mention we ban a good portion of the weapons that valve makes. they make money off those weapons. so fiscally the smartest thing for them to do is keep doing what they are doing and pleasing the mass pyro reddit readers that have no idea what is happening but holy shit they love unicorns and pointless weapons.

What would the community gain for doing another one? With i46 we saw that the NA teams are better than the euro teams, especially when the euro teams aren't trying. I think the money raised by the community would be better put towards getting some NA venue to put TF2 into their event, using the money raised as a prize pot.
Seriously, what huge exposure did the game get? The single greatest thing to get exposure for this game has been John putting it on front page. Not some over glorified esea lan where eventually its just the top two NA teams playing each other with a slightly different rule set in a different continent.
