As someone who has played a lot of sniper, if you are averaging 100 ping, this is about what you should expect and there is not very much you can do about it afaik. TF2 has lag compensation, at 100 ping its enough to where you feel responsive, but also slightly off. This guy has a really good video about source lag compensation and how it works

That delay (I am completely guessing) that manifests itself to your perception as "weird hitboxes", is the time it takes the server to both calculate and send back your inferred tick hit data

However, high ping does actually give you an advantage in some scenarios, the window for you to shoot where a player is in view is generally a bit bigger in my experience, leading to some cases where you can even shoot players completely behind cover. which is really funny when it happens on the other person's stream (shoutout clanta). You gain more time to shoot, however you will never win an SvS where they peek you first unless they either suck or miss.

tl;dr source game interpolation looks weird, learn to love high ping even though it makes SvS harder

according to the website it looks like it came with a USB adapter, if your mic is bleeding through aux, use the USB.

for whatever reason realtek in my experience fucking hates microphone line in, especially if you're doing what i think you're doing and running both audio out and audio in through one cable.

also im assuming if it came with software, the software would probably work better anyways with the USB connection as opposed to the 3.5mm

if you don't have the USB, USB soundcards are like 20 USD on amazon, but given that the headset is like 80 bucks on its own, maybe its better to just live with it and try using discord's baked in stuff
