Examining the psychology between the two classes

1. Most people who play Scout simply play the class because it represents a person that they both relate to negatively, but also want to be. The Scout is represented by an emasculated character, clearly the runt of the litter when compared to the rest of the classes, giving the player a sense of a connection to the class. 2. In contrast, the Soldier class is the weakest class in a 1v1 scenario. For example, let's examine the arena Badlands middle. For a scout to win, it is only a matter of positioning; emptying the pistol out furiously in the valley area will accumulate a guaranteed 20 kills and ELO gains (contact meddle for further information). For a Demoman to win, it's only a matter of air detonations, shooting stickybombs over the crates, and the crate corner strategy (contact delpo for further information). For a Soldier to win versus a Scout would take some very high intelligence, well-angled jumps, and the knowledge of every exploit that a dastardly Scout could could use for leverage (ex: the varying terrain from map to map).
