#7 Headphone suggestions? in Hardware
Vipersennheiser hd 598 or 558 are really good for their prices

I have the 558s and they're incredible. Definitely need to get an amp for them though or else you won't be able to hear some of the lower frequencies. I got mine when they were on sale on amazon for $90.

#34 which halo game is ur favorite in Off Topic

Halo 3 was my favorite by far. Bought it when it first came out and played the hell out of it for 3+ years (and still went back to it from time to time after Reach came out). Ranked matchmaking was so fun. Still vividly remember the game that I got my first 50 on.

Reach was where the game started going downhill imo with all the stuff like armor lock and jetpack. It was still a pretty fun game, but it did not feel like Halo at all.

#35 How's your team faired so far this season? in TF2 General Discussion

First season in open with some good friends of mine. Had a bit of a rocky start to the season when we lost two games while we were up 4-1. Glad that nobody on our team tilted and we were able to move forward from that thanks to the leadership of our medic (shoutout to HappyBob1).

We are currently 10-4 and will most likely finish out the season 12-4 from the looks of it. Pretty happy with how our team has been performing and am looking forward to playoffs.

#82 Scream Fortress VIII has arrived in TF2 General Discussion
AsecKinda feel like people are overreacting a little. Its matchmaking, it wasn't good before the update and it still isn't. I am wondering how many people complaining here actually played MM regularly.
Judging by the tftv forums, nobody here cares about mm at the moment, because it's that unpopular.
Valve probably knows that and is just experimenting with it now I guess, like testing out how ctf currently works (/doesn't work) in 6s and trying to improve it, doing the same with badwater/payload.

Of course those are some super questionable decisions (why remove badlands instead of swiftwater??), but does it really matter to the comp community right now?
It doesn't affect the leagues or anything, so who cares. Valve wanna find out that CTF sucks on their own, they don't want to rely on a tiny slice of their playerbase? From a dev standpoint, I think that kinda makes sense.

The only thing that really bothers me, is that the entire process of experimenting with the game to find out what does and doesn't work is just so slow.
But it's Valve, so that should have been expected...

It's just a shame to see all the potential that mm could have had just go to waste. Where is the whitelist? Where is the option to choose maps?

Removing maps that are staples of competitive and which have proven themselves to be fairly balanced and fun to play on is going backwards. Not only that but to throw in another payload map and a ctf map when neither of those have been known to work for 6s - let alone even be fun to play in that format - is just salt in the wound.

That's what betas are for. I have a feeling that mm will never actually be out of "beta". Valve will just keep experimenting while the competitive community slowly shrinks.

That is why people are upset.

#80 first time u played tf2 in TF2 General Discussion

My first 20 or so hours I was on a laptop so all I played was engie. Got bored and stopped playing for 3 years.

After I built my own computer I decided to pick it up again. Played on a community server called the Train Yard regularly and eventually became an admin. Met a lot of cool people there who helped me develop an interest in the competitive scene. Been playing ever since.

#52 Im sad in Off Topic

Being cut sucks but give it time. It's not like you'll never find another team. I remember you were a pretty solid roamer when I scrimmed against you.

I hope you stick with TF2 and compete this season. Plus it's always fun when you beat the teams that cut you or passed you up. Stay strong dude.
