I'm ready for it to start. ;)
You know I was the one who brought the prophunt and dodgeball servers. :)
And you are right. I went to LAN Fest's Picasa and there are pics from prime, but no East. https://picasaweb.google.com/lanfestintel/
But remember, can't let ya in before 6.
That's funny. During that dance off I was behind the stage working my shift at PC Security.
thrasher you talking East? I was there! I got to start putting names to faces. :D
Radium, you aren't the first from Maryland. I am thinking we (FITES) should have a Maryland LAN but finding a good venue is always a hassle. Maryland LAN Gamers has more of the south covered, I would love to hold a huge one at the Timonium Fair Grounds, but no one ever returns my calls. :( But myself being in MD would love to throw a LAN closer to me.
You may be wondering why do you run a LAN in PA but are from MD. Long story, but FITES pre-dates me by a couple years. I started with them in 2003.
Enough of my tangent,
I can't wait to see you all at the LAN!
I'd love to tell you when the next Iron Storm is but I don't know and they haven't announced it yet. But if I had to guess from past years I would say March or April. I know many of those guys worked with The GXL doing network for PAX East last year so if they are doing that again I wouldn't expect their LAN around that time. (PAX East: March 22-24) But that's just my guess.
I wanted to throw up my guess for you all because I really like all those guys but being down in Baltimore travelling for my own LAN is already a good distance so I understand about travel. I want everyone to have a good time and keep LANing without breaking the bank. (That is if you can't make it to our event please still attend ones you can get to! Without people LANs will dry up pretty quick.)
Thank you for the kind words. We try our best to make things as fun as possible for everyone. I got a chuckle out of the CS comment. CS is usually up on the chopping block every year because, (1) none of the staff plays anymore, and (2) they seem to be a very serious crowd. ;)
Last year was our first year running a TF2 tournament so things were a bit awkward being all stopwatch, but we needed to minimize the time to not overlap with our other tournaments. This year things will be more "normal." (We finalize all rules no later than 30 days before an event but usually sooner.)
thrasher, thank you for posting about our event! This year we got the hotel to give us more power so 50 more seats than last year!
