I don't think any team would mind dropping maps as long as they end up on the winning side.

can vouch for the cx300s, they're great, I'm on my 3rd pair atm.

Scout is usually the easiest dm class to get into when you start playing 6s. In my case, though I liked playing soldier more, I eased myself into 6s with a season of scout to get a feel for the game and then started playing soldier when I got more comfortable with it.
