#71 Exposing a 19K hour cheater/hacker -- Seven in TF2 General Discussion
TroopoI don't understand how this guy has been getting away with it for SO long with his hacks be so unbelievably obvious.

I played a couple lobbies against him, once as scout in HL, and once as soldier in 6s. He didn't do shit on soldier, and only did stuff when he offclassed to sniper, and in the HL one, he wrecked us. I felt like he hit a LOT of shots, but I was running around too much focusing other things to pay a whole lot of attention to him, and while some of his shots he hit on me seemed a little fishy, I also wasn't in a good position to really make a judgement (and I'm too lazy to review an stv demo to watch him play).

Basically, since my only experiences with him were in lobbies, I never was FULLY convinced that he was hacking (although I was suspicious), and I just let it slide as "oh he has a ton of hours, he's probably just good." I think that's a big part of why he's been able to get away with it, although I'm not the least bit surprised to learn that he probably hacks.

I think people were mad that you implied tf2 doesn't require any strategy.

alfa is saying csgo requires more strategy not that tf2 has none. Teams have more strats to take B than you have rollouts to mid.

I'm not disputing that by any means. I just think some people gathered from alfa's comment that he was implying tf2 doesn't require any strategy, and that's why they -fragged him. Not because he said people should play whichever game was fun for them.

#17 Is bhop worth learning? in Q/A Help

Also, that spy could have gotten to that window spot by going up through ramp room first, and doing a normal jump (with an airstrafe) from battlements to the window. It doesn't have to be a bhop from the crate (although that would be faster).

#7 Maximizing Damage in TF2 General Discussion

I always think of demo as sort of mid-range artillery. You're job isn't really to be in their face doing damage. If you have scouts in their face or your soldiers bombing in, then you get aggressive and just pound them with damage. Otherwise, really try to pick your targets well, specifically going for either a player your team has called to focus, or else players that are cut off from their medic. If you're doing long range damage on a target that is being tanked by their medic, it's not as efficient as if you could be hitting someone who can't get that health back.

But then again I'm not a demo main so I might be an idiot.

loljkGo to 53:36 on the VOD. The greatest play of the match. Harbleu corners ninja nick at last. All Nick has to do is run back into spawn and he will be safe. Instead he falls down and is surely doomed to die by the hands of Harbleu. By din of habit Harbleu shoots Ninja nick right at the feet and the medic surfs back up the wall onto the platform and back into safety. Leaving Harbleu with nothing more than a skill stick and a shameful retreat. The stats won't represent what was the most amazing passage of play. In the space of 5 seconds both players make horrible and incredible plays each nullifying the other.

I lost it at this part, so glad the camera person caught it

#21 How do I improve my Spy Movement? in Q/A Help

Learn every little nuance of every map you'll play in comp. There can be so many routes and pathways that nobody ever thinks about (scouts don't need them cause double jump, soldiers don't them cause RJ, etc). If nobody is ever thinking about those spots and routes, then they'll never think to check for you there. I remember playing HL on some map against some spy who kept killing our medic over and over and we had no fucking clue how he managed it. Turns out he found some sneaky jump that got him into a position that we'd never think to check.

Outdoors and indoors?

Well to be honest, I don't really count it unless it's done outdoors. But since it's middle of winter here, I'm just thinking about the gym at the moment. I'm going to Smith Rock in Oregon for a day or two in March, so I might be able to work on something there.

Pretty impressive lead.

I exclusively boulder now but I'm hoping to send my first v8 since five years ago this season. How long have you been climbing?

I've been climbing for about 4 or 5 years, but I've honestly never focused on my strength or endurance. I've mostly just done multi-pitch trad, sticking around 5.8-5.10+. The most difficult routes I've done so far have all been hard because they were scary as shit and super run out (free-soloed once, but probably won't ever do that again lol).

Our winter has been so shitty I've basically had no choice but to just gym climb, so that's what I've been focusing on the last 3 months or so. I've redpointed up to 5.12b (both indoors and outdoors), and I got my first V6 yesterday, so I'm hoping I hit those goals I set in the next month. If I'm looking at 2015, I'm hoping to get on a 5.13, and shoot for V8/9.

sildeezyYou really can't expect a team to spread their players out in a game where your teammates and friends are the main reason you play (like tf2).

You could probably put together two rosters of NA players that could challenge froyo, but between people being busy, taking breaks, refusing to play in ESEA ever again, etc, those players are never playing at the same time so shit doesn't happen. It's not froyo's fault.

Don't get me wrong, I don't even watch tf2 anymore because I think it's boring/predictable in it's current state. There's a team with clockwork AND banny on it, WITHOUT tyrone... obviously they are gonna beat everyone.

I'd just rather see other teams step up than see froyo split apart.

Froyo definitely seems dominant, and the games they've played haven't been all that exciting. But c'mon the Mad Men/eLevate/Street Hoops matches have all been fantastic this season.

Regardless of whether there are teams that can challenge Froyo at i55, it'd still be great to see another international lan.

#26 Seraph's Pugs in TF2 General Discussion

The one pug I played yesterday wasn't that bad. Some people were goofing around with some unlocks (scottish resistance, panic attack, etc), but otherwise it was a decent pug. Better than a tf2center.
